History Repeats Itself. Riot, why are you releasing Solo Q after Flex Q?

How to rank up in the 2017 season

Under the first section, Riot Socrates says, "Flex Queue will be turned on right as preseason starts (coming with patch 6.22), with Solo/Duo Queue coming under a week later". I can't be the only one getting a major red flag here. Last year, we were told SoloQ would be coming about a week after dynamic queue. Then a month. Then there was a world in which soloq did not exist. Why is there a difference in timing, Riot? Please don't do what you did last year. Thanks for your time.

So they can stall it for the whole year

This also has a good side - flex queue will have a reset after two patches, anyway.

Solo/Duo not starting early also means that people will have time to get accustomed to the preseason changes and do not ruin their fellow player's games by diving straight into Ranked.

I suspect they are intentionally forcing people to use FlexQ before they enable soloQ.

Afterall, who is going to soloQ for Flex to get wrecked by premades after soloQ is enabled. Not I.

IMO, FlexQ would be more attractive if they made guarantees about matchups. For example, 5 vs 1-4 is okay. 5 vs 1-1-1-1-1 is not.

I'd like to see a promise that FlexQ teams are only made as 1-4, 2-3, or 5. Never 1-1-3, 1-1-1-2, or 1-1-1-1-1.

Though I'd also prefer if soloQ was only for queueing alone, and FlexQ was only for queueing as 2/3/5.

I would think this more of a technical decision than a conspiracy theory of them not bringing back solo queue, or delaying it further.

They are literally just changing the label for "Dynamic Queue" to "Flex Queue" which probably doesn't involve much in-depth coding issues, while creating or reactivating an older matchmaking mode might just simply take more time to implement.
