You shouldn't have to go though promos for tiers you've already achieved.

This would just make everything so much more stress free. Why should you have to go through promos for a tier/division you've already completed before? its not like you have to prove your worthy of being in a tier you already achieved.

I think if it was at least changed to something similar like this then you wouldn't feel so bad having to climb all the way back up from going down a tier especially if you know you can climb it easily. Just an idea i hope you guys agree with.

People can get worse at the game. And if u can do it once u can do it again, and probably easier unless u dont deserve it

Unless said person is either on tilt or hasn't played for several years, no one will get 'worse'. I've repromoted to the same division about 4-5 times now. I've definitely proven I can get to said division. Why do I honestly have to promo that many times? That's 8-10 games out of a possible 12-15 that are strictly promos.

8 games @ 30 minutes avg is about 4 hours of wasted time...We'll say 2 of those would be the first promos which don't count...Still 3 hours you could be spent ranking up to the next league even..or doing real-life things shutter.

But you've also proven you can't compete with people in said division.

Wrong again. Nearly all of the demotions have been due to a teammate trolling or feeding. I can only influence a game so hard if all other lanes (and jg) are getting crapped on. Ex, if it's 16-6 and I'm 4-5 of the kills and maybe 1 of the deaths.

I can compete, at least 1 person on my team thanks to matchmaking can't. And I can't influence the game as well as a jungler if I'm..well..not the jungler. Ex, I can go 20-4 Annie or whatever but if they kill me, by any means necessary (5 man cheesy brush ganks in an outcast area where they've become desperate) that means it's gg right there because it's effectively a 3v5 fight at that point.

Searingspear2 votes

Someone who is better would've carried those games harder. No one is stuck in a division because of team mates. If you consistently go 16-6 and lose, you probably have issues with objective control and are losing because you're too busy with kills, not because your team mates suck.

Yea! This isnt a team, where do you think you are!

You could say all your promotions have been due to enemy team AFKs or trolls...

Implying 3 or 5 games are determined by skill..

Joe Dredd10 votes

They are. If you consistently play at a skill level above your current elo you will climb. If you in silver 5 with challenger skill you will climb fast. If you are silver 5 with silver 4 skill you will climb at a really slow pace.

Penns14 votes

Still, just those 3 promo games alone are mainly luck reliant so you wont do it 100% of the time even tho you did it before. Its just time consuming and not under your control.

Joe Dredd4 votes

And? It back in s4 it took me 13 tries to get gold. That just means I wasn't at a gold level or just barely at a gold level, which means that it takes a while.

I've always wanted to run a comp with

| adc | sup | mid | top | jg | |- | TwistedFate | TahmKench | Ziggs | Shen | RekSai |

Hard push waves, just keep rotating and they can't catch up.

Penns17 votes

Do you really have that mentality of "only my skill matters and if I lose its just my fault" in a game where you can only control 1/10 parts? :D I mean, its like a 5v5 pokemon game where everyone can only bring 1 pokemon. Your enemies can bring Mega Rayquaza, your team can bring... a Pikachu and vice versa, you cant know, you cant influence, you rely.

Joe Dredd4 votes

The fuck is mega rayquaza?

And yes, I do have that mentality. I go through my games not thinking, "wow i didnt deserve to lose" I think " Did I deserve to win this game? Did I make any mistakes? Is there anything I could have done better?" And hell, if skill doesn't matter, i must be one hell of a lucky guy to go from bronze 2 to plat 2.

Lauchmelder2 votes

Most of the times I neither deserve to lose nor to win. It's one stupid mistake on either side of the game that costs the respective team the game.

Narasimha2 votes

And that's entirely the point. When two teams of roughly equal skill face each other, it no longer becomes a case of 'who is better', merely 'who makes more mistakes'.

Joe Dredd3 votes

Doesn't making less mistakes mean that you're better?

Penns2 votes

Mega Rayquaza is a god btw :v xD

Both losing and winning often arent really deserved. You can only win if your team allows you to. Making less mistakes does make YOU better, but not necessarily your elo.

I like to think of ranked like school. You dont have to be smart (good) to get good grades (get higher elo/ win games), tho it does help. As long as you study (grind) for long enough, you will get there.

MasterVidallis3 votes

That's cute and all but maybe just try being objective. Obviously your skill matters, it's just not the only thing that matters. Over many matches it will make you climb, on a per individual match basis though obviously there will be many where there is nothing you can do as an individual.

A healthier way of looking at the game when you lose is to ask, what could I have done better? Sometimes the answer is nothing, sometimes it's a lot.

The Ecdysiast7 votes

You just talked about the fact you can't influence a game much as one player. If two people feed and disconnect, no amount of warding is going to win you the game. Unless you're also changing script.

Searingspear3 votes

Yeah, sure, if two people feed and disconnect you lose. I've literally never had that happen in my league of legends career. Stop making excuses as to why you're losing games, and try to legitimately improve by analyzing your mistakes, and thinking of what you could have done better. If you do this every game you will climb.

RellikDloc6 votes

Then you must not play at all. Never had a troll or someone disconnect, GTFO. I cant stand people like this, "oh if you just did this or just did this", "oh that's never happen to me, your just bad".

Jingerbeardman2 votes

he said he never had 2 people feed then disconnect in ranked before... learn to read. He/she is also correct about analyzing your play, the more you think about how you can do things differently the better you will be able to react to various situations that come up in the future. Being prepared for what happens makes you that much better a player.

on a side note, he never called anyone bad, but you did which should tell you something.

Tails Doll4 votes

Because appereantly, we have to believe that this guy was able to alude all trolls/all feeders/and all dc while playing league of legends?

Yeah, sure.. Maybe if your whole "league of legends career" consist in playing the tuturial.

Jingerbeardman3 votes

you really need to stop and learn to read EVERYTHING IN A POST before making reply... because you just made the exact same mistake twice...

Tails Doll1 votes

And maybe you should stop learning how te recognize when someone is bullshitting you.

Jingerbeardman1 votes

here is the problem... you are not. Bullshitting and Belittling are 2 very different things.

Searingspear1 votes

I mean it probably helps that I don't rage at all, and I try to be very positive in general. I've had a few failure to connects on my team, but I've had just as many on the other team. Think about it like this: If you NEVER NEVER NEVER rage quit or afk or whatever, then there's a 4/9 chance that someone on your team rages. (4 other players on your team, 9 other players in the game) And there's a 5/9 chance that someone on their team rage quits. Of course you can stack the deck against yourself by flaming and instigating AFKs from your team. Basically if you never rage there's a greater probability that the enemy team has an AFK than your team. And that's good! That means you actually win more games because of AFKs than you lose!!!! So be happy about AFKs because for everyone one you get, there's going to be more than one for the bad guys.

Tails Doll1 votes

Dude, please, even if you are the nicest of the nicest person on earth, you are bound to have a rager/dc/troll every now and then, just by cheer numbers, I've seen people that rage because they get ganked, because they screw up and many other things that are beyond your control. Unless you play bots and bots only.

Searingspear2 votes

Yeah obviously I have AFKs and trolls sometimes but the post that I originally commented on said two feed and quits on your team in the same game. I was just saying I've never had that happen to me, I feel like a lot of people tend to give super exaggerated examples like that one. And the post that you commented on I said that there's is a greater chance of an AFK/rager being on the enemy team than your team, not that I never get AFKs. It's not like I'm a stupidly nice person in game, I say nj when someone gets a kill, I tell people that they made a bad decision if they did. I don't call people retarded or say they should kill themselves.

Virgin Ray1 votes

Unless you are support, you are pretty much as good as your crappy team. You have to rely on them to be good enough for them to coordinate with your cc and abilities to win lane, and this is solo que not a ranked team.

Joe Dredd1 votes

standard support making excuses

Virgin Ray3 votes

Have you tried playing support?

Joe Dredd2 votes

Support is my secondary role.

Virgin Ray2 votes

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X8N5yTdGhIU

You can't carry your lane, the adc does. The ONLY thing you can do is support the adc through heals and cc, If the adc isn't coordinating with your cc and crap, you are pretty much wasting your mana. Keep in mind that I am in bronze, not platinum. Chances are you don't even main the role, and even if you did, you would probably get better people because they are in platinum.

Deep Terror Nami3 votes

Harassing the shit out of the enemy and roaming for ganks is a big part of supporting in the laning phase too (you know, other than vision but that's a given). If all you do is sit behind your ADC and heal him and try to land CC, you are not likely going to win your lane unless you're Soraka.

Virgin Ray1 votes

I completely agree, what I am trying to tell you is that when I cc the enemy adc or support, 90% of the time the adc will continue farming. wasting the spell and mana

Deep Terror Nami2 votes

If you figure out how they play early on, you can play to complement his farming so you aren't making plays you know he won't follow up on.

As you get into higher ranks, your ADC's won't be that bad and will start following up on your CC.

Virgin Ray1 votes

What do you mean by compliment his farming?

Deep Terror Nami1 votes

As in not trying to push the wave, don't let them interfere with him getting CS, not going forward on your own and getting caught and killed, not wasting time trying to make plays he isn't going to follow up on, and hitting minions just the right amount so tower shots don't take his CS.

You might call it playing passive-aggressive; you aren't sitting in back doing nothing but you aren't trying to get kills either. If he's playing safe enough you can even roam mid and jungle for ganks while he farms.

Virgin Ray1 votes

So once the wave is clear, then I can use my cc abilities and expect him to follow up because there isn't any farm to collect?

Joe Dredd1 votes

It's not like i've started off in platinum. I started off bronze, while still supporting a lot. Just because you aren't good doesn't mean you can't influence games.

Virgin Ray1 votes

So can you tell me how to influence games? I don't know how to influence a game if my team won't coordinate with the cc I provide. I'm serious, im not trying to start another argument. Please tell me how so I will win more ranked games.

Joe Dredd2 votes

Expect less from your team. Don't watch a stream and then get mad when your bronze team mate doesn't react like a diamond. Often expecting less and playing according to that will make you do better.

Virgin Ray1 votes

Alright, so when do I use my cc ability to start getting kills? When can I make sure the adc will follow up with the cc for poke and possibly a kill?

Joe Dredd1 votes

man idk m8 this stuff differs for each game
