Yeah, but... well... supports have to really depend on the team. I mean, an adc main who got first pick can always pick up Vayne and do a decent job of putting the game on their back through damage and self-peel. And Toplaners can pick up someone like Rengar or Gnar, and do very similar things. Similar case in the midlane and jungle.

However, as a tanky support main... you don't get damage. At least not enough of it to put a game on your back. The team has to cooperate at least a little. If I roll up with an adc that just begs to get caught and any other person with a good measure of incompetence, we're pretty screwed no matter how many times I save that adc's tail.

I mean, unless I start pulling cheese like playing "support" Rengar, Fizz, &c.

Yeah the supports depend on the team to deal the damage. What you missed though is that the whole team also depends on the support to keep them alive.

I'd say killing the enemy carry instantly is a good way of keeping your team alive as a support...

to be honest, i feel like it's easiest to carry as support in soloQ. You have more impact in the early lane than an adc and thus can make the difference between him doing well or not, you keep vision controll, and you can keep your adc save in teamfights after getting him ahead in lane. It doesn't matter if your adc isn't great, in most games it's enough if he rightclicks enemies while you peel for him.

However, if you get a bad random support, chances are high that your adc does poor in lane and the enemie adc gets fed, which is already as good a gg, and you usually have poot vision controll. Something nearly all rankeds i lost have in common is that the support(and usually most of the rest aswell) has way less wards placed/destroyed than the enemie...not allways their fault, but vision controll is important, thus a good support is important...well, thats for plat thoug, you can atleast be sure that your adc knows the baselines of positioning and rightclicking, while you sadly can't be sure that supports know how to properly controll vision and play ther lane, though they have definitly a more comblicated job than adc. Maybe it's different in lower elos, so you need a high damage supp. For that case, J4 and pant are quite potent, or mage supports like velkoz or brand.

When I support I drastically prefer to solo queue. Duo queue seems to make my mid and top lane just get steamrolled too often because they are lower ELO on average.

When I duo'd I played with a jungler friend.

When both top lane and mid lane are doing poorly, the jungler can only do so much. Not saying I always did well and the other lanes always did poorly, but the jungler can only do so much if two lanes both lead to Shitsburg on an express route. Especially if they're trying to butt heads with him like Twitch and Sivir over there.

Some guy wouldn't let me adc when I duo'd with my Thresh main. I got mad when he ended up carrying hard as Vayne. They swapped numbers. Next day I spawned into the rift to see my Thresh-prince was deep with this vayne (Nexus Tower deep). I was destroyed. Now I trust no Thresh ever again and am forever alone in the bot lane grabbing a random LuLu's or Bard for a one time use. I am now in search of my own to replace my long lost Thresh. I will take you home for myself. You can sit around the Rift all day as long as they don't end up Queueing up with some random Ashe at the bar. No saying what I might do if I am abandoned again. I might've taken this too far, but as long as you keep those Tahm's away from me I will make it through. Hit me up Draven
