Is Botlane too coinflip?

Botlane has been too coinflip since midseason 7. Marksmen items are severely cheaper and more effective than other build paths in the game, amplifying any lead they get tenfold. The state of support got pushed into being so overpowered that autofill gives me top lane more often than support. Simply put, too much is reliant upon bot lane's performance. I get that the lane is 2/5 players but the game doesn't feel like bot lane contributes to wins or losses 2/5 of the time, their effect on a game is multiplicatively greater than its other counterpart roles in a game.

Just posted a thread regarding marksmen and their itemization. Gist of it is to rework crit and make adc items linear in that they do very good in just one category and terrible in others.

I and many pro players agree with you that bot lane is too strong at the moment. Vayne is getting nerfed next patch, as well as the healing on relic shield/targon's for ranged champions. However, Twitch, Tristana, and Xayah will continue to be very strong picks, and Jinx may even join the mix with the buffs she's getting, so I see no end to the adc meta in the near future.

Botlane has always been a coinflip ever since they made autofill mandatory.

And botlane's performance is heavily dictated by who shows up to the lane. If you are a jungler or mid player who never roams bot, you are doing something wrong. You can't be mad when the enemy mid roams bot, gets a kill/double kill, takes turret, frees up support to make plays, and frees up ADC to help push turrets; what they are good at, and possibly getting dragon. At that point, you have something like an 80% chance to win the game. You can't sit in lane and cry because you didnt take advantage of that and the enemy mid/jg did.

The meta hasn't been sit in lane and farm up for a long time; even when ADCs were weak. The meta has been go 3-5 bot, dive/gank/take turret/take drag, rotate top/mid for a long time, even when ADCs were a meme. Why people still can't grasp this, even after tuning into LCS and seeing it on a game by game basis, blows my mind. Even in low elo games the 4 man bot strat is alive and well and wins most games. Even if ADCs were nerfed into the dirt like everyone wants, this is still going to be the meta, and you are still going to have a 3/0 ADC showing up mid/top taking your turret after drag because you refuse to acknowledge it while your enemy counterparts do.
