To those who complain about Heimerdinger

Are you joking?

Heimer sets up his illuminati zone, and yeah, anyone who walks into it will probably die.

However, that is not Heim being OP. That is players failing to abuse his weaknesses.

Q: Very, VERY high damage. He will swagwalk around in his triangle and kite you to death if you try to dive his turrets. The thing is, these are easy to kill. Vladimir E-Q kills the turrets isntantly ZedCan spam Q and W-E to keep Heimer defenseless Diana Can kill the turrets with any skill she wants, while negating the return damage with W. You get the idea. Kill his turrets, and KEEP killing them. If he cannot build up his domain, he is screwed. W: High damage, long range. Also a decently long cooldown, ~10 seconds generally, so in a fight, he can generally use this once or twice. E: DAMN that hitbox is small. Slightly longer cooldown than W. R-Q: Fun fact, you can smite this thing to negate a large chunk of Heimers presence in a fight. R-W: Dodge it, the hitbox is still pretty small. Afterwards, take advantage of how heimer does not have his Apex turret. R-E: VERY high impact skill, with a rather long range, but it also has relatively low damage and a slow travel time.

tl;dr: Kill his turrets, have the jungler smite his ult turret (or bring a Nunu), dodge his W and E, and abuse how weak he is when his skills are on cooldown.

people complain about him????

yeah, he actually has the highest winrate in midlane AND toplane in plat+ leagues. Around 57%.

People keep diving his turrets and then crying because they did exactly the kind of thing Heimer is supposed to counter

Heimer falls off REALLY hard, like REAAAAALLY hard

And if you don't have the ability to clear turrets at range?

100% melee champs are rare in mid, so that is only really an issue for people fighting Heimer Top.

Against that, embrace the island of toplane, and farm into lategame.

So, do absolutely nothing?

Gee, what a fun game Heimer makes for.

You could also roam and take objectives elsewhere. Not that I like playing against Heim either, but some people seem to think your options are beat him in lane or die. >>

In mid, the only (meta) Melee Only champions are Fizz Yasuo Riven Fizz can kill heimer and then hop out again before he has even taken 500 damage Yasuo can windwall to stop the turret autos, E on the turrets to dodge heimers W/E, and hit two turrets at once with his Q3. And riven can use any ability to kill the turrets, while blocking damage with her shield

Granted, heimer has a stronger than average lane against full melee champs, but that is just how Zone control champions are.

Also, even if YOU have no way to clear the turrets (Trundle top for example), your jungler might. Amumu MasterYi Kayle all have ways of clearing his turrets when they gank with just the collateral damage of their spells.

You do realize how easily he can just replace those turrets right? While you burn your entire mana bar and all of your abilities killing turrets, Heimerdinger will simply have another set of turrets waiting, and not even go through a quarter of his mana.

~One turret is generated per 25 seconds. Clear them out once, then heimerdinger has two options:

  1. Place his turrets ASAP, as they come off cooldown: You can kill one turret pretty easily
  2. Wait till he has some turrets stored to place them: He is defenseless until he puts them down, so you have a window of oppertunity.

Yea the problem is it takes Heimer about 60 mana to replace all three and all of mine to consistently get rid of them.

On who?

Assuming they're placed far enough away that aoe won't hit all of them you'd have to use two spells for each on most champions, or a spell and two autoattacks, but if you do it that way you'll take some damage from the towers. There's not a single mid laner that uses mana that can afford 6 spell casts on minions that give 5 gold. Even 3 casts is pushing it.
