I actually enjoy down bot lane as a support, I'm in the process of learning play makers such as Blitz and Threah and Brand.... I am asking this cause I'm hard stuck at silver 5 , idk what it is honestly a mixture of bad ADC, no ganks from jungle and I could really use help on what I have to do to climb as support?!?!?
Don't play play makers basically. Play makers require follow up. Low elo has terrible follow up.
Low elo supports that are good are more the brute force types that are easy to follow like 
, 
or 
.
Basically champs where you can support, or just go "f*** it, I'm the carry now." if you do well but your adc isn't.
Adaptive build champs.

Generally if you're wallowing in a certain tier it's a red flag that you most likely deserve to be there. Granted, it is quite a lot harder to carry from the support role, it is not impossible. Maybe watch a few replays of your games and take some notes on things you could do better. Maybe you're not battling for vision dominance enough, maybe you're not peeling as well as you can.

Blitz and Brand are good supports. Thresh is a bad support in low elos because the only way to do good with him is if your team already has a lead. Thresh just snowballs and secures that lead. But you would feel useless if your team is feeding cause there is really nothing you could do
play aggressive supports like leona/blitz/thresh/ sometimes nami.
the benefit is you will be able to repeatedly set up your adc to kill the enemy adc with ease, and if you can do that you will win tons of games, not from your adc being big and competent, but because the enemy adc wont even exist.
