How the fuck do I lane against Kassadin?

Ahri Body Pillow··4 votes·4,692 views

I know I shouldn't have that much trouble, but I do. It feels like I can only ever AA harass him because shield and passive soak up any damage I can do with abilities. Even If try to zone him with aas, he just Q's me and out trades me. Just whittles me down and then all in's me at level six and I can't do ANYTHING from that point on because half of the damage he doesn't dodge with his ult is mitigated by passive and Q. Afterwards he just outroams me and snowballs his other lanes.

Advice plez :////

Respect his ult charges and damage. It is very easy to step out of a Kassadin ult since the hitbox is comparatively small. If he uses his ult in quick succession, it will deal a ton of damage. Do not underestimate his ability to ult away and then ult on you to turn around and one shot you if you don't expect it.

Other than that you can always just shove him in. His waveclear is terrible without his ult and even then it's not exactly the best.

His Q shield isn't that huge. It helps him trade into magic damage, but it doesn't make him invulnerable to it. Additionally you can just use your combo after the shield wears off, since you don't really have to attack him right away just because he used his Q. Punish him for using it offensively like that.

He also only has Q and E pre 6 and you can keep track of his E stacks. If he only uses his Q in a trade but you hit more than one spell you win the trade.

Only problem is that it's easy to farm under tower with him, so shoving doesn't matter.

If he is sitting under his turret he is not roaming bot or top and you can control him better

  1. Surrender at 15
  2. Rage at teammates, that will make them fight for you........ or against you
  3. Play Lucain or any AD
  4. Build magic Pen instead of plain AP to nullify his passive
  5. Surrender at champion select

  1. You can abuse Kassadin in the early levels (before he gets his ultimate) with poke champions because spamming his Q will make him go oom, his W is a melee range attack and he can't use his E unless he has 6 stacks on it.

  2. AD champions are good against him because the shield he gains from his Q only blocks magic damage. You can also harass him with AD assassins before he gets his ultimate and force him into buying a Zhonya's instead of rushing Rod of Ages (which will make him far less tanky).

  3. Because Kassadin's early game is so weak, he often has to last hit minions with his Q to prevent being poked by his lane opponent. If Kassadin uses his Q to farm, then he can't use it on you. Look for him to do this, wait for his magic damage shield to expire after he uses his Q, then go and poke him and back out afterwards.

  4. Hit tab when you get into lane and look at his starting item: -If he started Doran's Ring, then he'll have better mana sustain and be more tanky but he'll do less damage during trades. Not much you can do in this scenario. -If he started Corrupting Potion, then he'll be less tanky but have better early trades. Try to force him to use up all of his potions by poking him when he goes to last hit minions. This will force him to either back off and refill his potions or stay in lane without sustain. Either way, he loses out on minions while you can stay in lane with your Doran's Ring (ALWAYS start Doran's Ring against Kassadin if you're playing a mage).

  5. Because Kassadin is a melee champion, he has to walk up to the wave to last hit with his autos. You should last hit the minions instead of pushing the wave so that the wave will naturally push to your side of the lane. If Kassadin wants to farm against you, then he'll have to move over to your side of the lane, which will open him up to ganks.

  6. If you are a mage, do not try to duel him once he gets his ultimate. Wait for him to use Rift Walk before trying to trade with him or you will likely lose the trade. Left click on his model to see how many stacks of Rift Walk he has and pay attention to his mana bar. If he is low on mana and is on his third or fourth stack of Rift Walk, he probably can't use it to duel you (because each successive stack of his ultimate costs double the mana of the previous stack). This is a good opportunity to fight him.

Kassadin, oom? With W and flask?

Kassadin, oom? With W and flask?

Doran's Ring provides you with better mana sustain than Corrupting Potion in the long term. It's like how Doran's Blade is better than Corrupting Potion top lane. Plus his W is a melee spell so he has to walk up to minions to use it. If you poke him when he goes for a W, you can get him low and eventually force him out of lane regardless of how much mana he has left.

You shouldn't lose against Kassadin as Ahri. Any damage you take can be sustained back while you can hurt him with your AA. Also, your ult CD at level 6-11 is way lower than his so mobility shouldn't be a problem. His ult is telegraphed so as long as you hold onto your charm, you can CC him the moment he hops on you. Maybe if it was old Kass you'd have a problem, but not with his silenced removed for "counterplay"

Its easy to beat Kassadin by trading damage when he wants to cs, auto attacking him when applicable, punishing his lack of waveclear and ganking him pre6. You can also bait his trade to make him vulnerable to jungle ganks and you can pick laners that outscale him. It really is no problem at all if you play even a little bit well to beat him every time.

Play ADC mid and he will come to boards asking how to lane against ADC mids.

Aside from Crits and superior Range, Sustain, DpS and items u easily make his Q shields useless and fuk up his E charges cuz u dont spam spells as much as AP champ, which makes it harder for him to clear waves from range and limit E use to just 1 time during duels.
