"Second Turret gold"

First turret gold is a great idea, it encourages people to be more inactive, coordinate with their team for the objective and gives a nice gold lead for the effort placed in getting it. It's not however without it's issues, mainly:

  • It doesn't punish risky plays enough. If you tower dive poorly, someone dies and you still get the turret even if someone trades turrets the gold is still even
  • It doesn't reward smart strategy by the people who are being dove, which is to clear the minion wave as long as possible, leave the turret and, instead of mid and jg rotating bot lane to start a 4v4 they might lose if the enemy team is ahead, simply trade turrets.
  • It encourages poor decision making. "I need to defend or they will get first turret gold" instead you give them both the gold and a kill to sweeten the deal.

The idea I have is "second turret gold" (name probably needs work XD).

If the losing team captures an enemy turret within 30 seconds after the first turret falls bonus 150 gold. I think this does two things:

  1. it encourages people to make GOOD reactive decision making. If you are getting dove leave and let's get the turret they aren't on.
  2. It nerfs first turret gold for bad players and less well executed plays. If you just trade towers, well you're ahead. If you trade towers but die doing so, you're not.
  3. It rewards good players more than average players. If you've gotten first turret AND prevented the enemy team from getting another one within 30 seconds it's the exact same as under the current system, so there's no lose to those players.

the problem with this is, it will propably create the splitpush-meta again in pro-play. One of the reasons they added this was to prevent this meta
