So why hasnt eve got a increase ranged on her E yet?

Not gonna lie, this seems like the most obvious buff to make her more playable without touching her stats. Her numbers are fine, her abilities are fine. Just increase the range of her E. I am not sure why riot is hesitating on this buff.

If they even think its too strong, then lower the charm duration, you don't need 2sec's charm anyway. 1sec does more than enough.

I had a proposal for a redesign I really liked that removed the sprint and dash off her E, but gave her a sprint when W completes to help her get on her target, to encourage her to use Allure to warn her prey.

I think your changes are quite good. I'm ok with anything tbh ( that is not just a number curve ). But all in all, in total honesty, why jump through hoops, when you can just walk directly to the problem? That's just my question. Perhaps there is something I'm missing here, but this seems really cut and dry.

I guess it feels like such an obvious solution that because they haven't done it, it must be a deliberate attempt to make her viable without giving her a dash.

Because Riot remade her as a melee Burst Mage.

Burst Mages don't get mobility or strong target selection.

1.) I don't think she is a burst mage. Not saying your wrong, but I think she was meant to be an "Assassin", her only real aoe, is her ult. And I'm pretty sure they even said they were aiming for her being an assassin.

2.) yes, mages don't usually get mobility, but that doesn't mean they "can't". Mobility isn't exclusive, so saying that as the reason, doesn't make much sense. You can say riot smiply choose not too, and that's fine. But giving a reason such as pre-fixed classes, just comes across as selective pandering. Mages don't have to be limited to lack of dashes. They certainly MEANT for her to be an Assassin, but she feels quite a bit more like a Burst Mage in terms of how she functions.

AoE doesn't necessarily divide Burst Mages and Assassins that much. Syndra has pretty low AoE compared to other Burst Mages. Talon has pretty high AoE compared to other Assassins.

The main differences between Assassins and Burst Mages is a combination of follow-up, hard CC, and target access. A Burst Mage blows their load on whatever is in range and then they do nothing for a while. Typically they have a hard disable to protect themselves and ruin their target's day.

Assassins, on the other hand, tend to be pretty light on hard disables (there's a reason why Ekko was built as a Tank) but they have a much better ability to reach a priority target AND more options when they get there. After an Assassin has blown their rotation, they almost ALL have something that encourages them to stick around if their target is still alive. That might be because they are AD or because they have a few super-low cooldown skills they can spam to secure a kill. Assassins also have a focus break that lets them bail if the situation gets tight.

So!

Eve.

She has a focus break like an Assassin, but also hard CC and no real follow-up damage like a Burst Mage. The focus break on her Ult is required because a melee Burst Mage standing awkwardly in melee range after blowing their combo is absolutely useless. If Eve's Q still worked like her old Q (just as an example) she would actually have options (like an Assassin) regarding what to do after pouncing on someone. Stay and secure the kill, or blow her Ult to avoid getting popped.

She still has Assassin qualities, but because she doesn't have options in the thick of a fight, I'm hesitant to call her an actual Assassin.

And just to say, the distinction between a Burst Mage and an Assassin is already kind of fuzzy sometimes.

to be quite frank, I don't think there is a distinction really. They interbreed like dogs that haven't been neutered Ekko Diana Ahri Leblanc Kassadin Malzahar (this one is a joke)

But back to the topic on hand. After all that being said. Again we find ourselves back at square one. Mostly @Riot, and questioning why they are afraid to increase her E range. lol
