DONT ADD VOICE CHAT

**WAIT **put down your pitchforks

I have an argument, I myself won't get butthurt over people being toxic however i can't be assured that two other teammates won't completely go AFK and just yell at each other. Its already bad enough that people actually pay attention to chat let alone argue but now with voice chat people WILL turn into more children than they already are capable of becoming.

Please give me counter argument to this rather than just downvoting to an oblivion

Voicechat will be insanely toxic, it's a really terrible idea

Here's my counter-argument. Let's wait and see how riot wants to implement it. If it seems logical then we go from there. If not, then pick up your pitchforks. I hear rubick sells them wholesale. :P

Voice chat isnt implemented yet so it hard to see how it would affect the community. But let me give you my view as an adult. I dont see the point in being toxic because this is a video game meant to be enjoyed and getting pissed off at a video game is childish. And while there has been games that annoyed me slighly ive never been toxic in chat. I have alot of older friends that feel the same way. Most people that are toxic seem to be children still. Now how does this affect voice chat. Well when you hear that kids voice being toxic what is your reaction probably laugh at him because hes being toxic which will embarrass him. Now i see the counter point well then hell be more toxic that game and i agree but given enough time hell realize that when hes toxic adults are just going to laugh at him hell stop being toxic or at least be less toxic. Sorta the same logic to how heavy drinking gets less fun after you turn 21.

Now my one thing i would say is voice chat would almost definitely need the tribunal back because a robot couldnt possibly accurately filter toxic chat. Just look at how much siri and ok google misinterpret words wrong and riot would not want to spend the money to hire behavior specialists to listen to 40 min chatlogs all day to deal with chat.

I hear your point and I'd agree that it works IRL, if you're with your friends and there's one random guy tripping he's going to feed off your vibes therefore if you don't care about his actions it's easy to stay calm and eventually he will be calm. However this works IRL because that's where people are face to face and have to think about such dangers of acting out for a long time, pc culture has enabled most whimps to become **fearless **warriors and therefore I fear that what you pointed out would be nulled.

your talking about short term though im talking about an eventual long term behaviour shift. Look at the effect 2 weeks of ping muting have. Also you have to think about what the revamped honor system might do to the community if riot actually supports it and doesnt just release and forget about it.

It'll probably have a function to mute or opt out of voice chat. its good for about ranked only. to coordinate teams. that about it

Dota has a significantly smaller player base, also I find dota more challenging and a more challenging game has less unfocused ppl (kids, ragers) idk just my view
