Change Ezreal's E to an actual skillshot?

Instead of targeting the closest enemy at the end of the teleport, the skill should be reworked as an actual skillshot. (If the opponent is standing in the middle of minions, it's basically impossible to hit him with E unless you teleport right on top of him) There are two ways to do this:

A) Replace the homing arrow completely, with a skillshot tagged on to the end of the arcane shift. In otherwords you shift to your location, then fire an arrow in the direction you want. It would be single target and only hit the first target in path. The damage scalings should stay the same. This would just make E a more skill based and reliable source of damage. It would also give AP ezreal more synergy with hextech gunblade, as he will actually have a reliable single target spell. (W counts as AOE, making spellvamp only 1/3rd as effective while Q process lifesteal.)

B) Have ezreal fire himself as the skillshot. The mechanics would be exactly the same, except he would deal magic damage to all targets in a line between him and the shift spot. The arcane shift will still fire an homing bolt at the closest enemy, however those that have already been hit by the initial dash are untargetable (this is just to stop AP ezreal from being some super spammy burst assassin).

What this would do is allow AP ezreal to use it for farming (though he would also be using up his escape mechanism, making it best used to shove lane when you are alone), and allow AD ezreal to quickly stack his passive. You can also use the dash to eliminate the targets you don't want the homing arrow to target. Or you can use it shift through multiple enemy champions if you plan on being ballsy and aggressive.

C) Essentially the same as B, but with a longer range and no homing bolt. Basically a weaker, but faster moving, spammable, shyvana ult; except you don't come out tanky on the other end. (should probably up the damage, as using it offensively means you are going 100% all in)

How about just changing it to prioritize enemy champions, if it must be changed at all.

Problem solved.

There have been threads about that before, and tons of people bitch that it wouldn't feel like a skill shot anymore. As if it ever felt like a skillshot in the first place.

Also, I do think AP ezreal needs a method of farming. Some people say having a spammable farm method would make him OP. I'd say if his farm method is also his escape, this means he can't use it as often and balances out.

I've never had it ever target anything but champions if they're in range... Idk what you're talking about. But you should never just E into the middle of 600 minions anyway.

Arcane shift will only target the closest enemy. 90% of the time, this is going to be a minion. "you should never just E into the middle of 600 minions anyway."

Yes, this is exactly my point, you can almost never use E offensively right now, as the only way to make sure it hits someone standing inside the minions is to go on top of them. You can't just E along the outside and hit them. At least if you can clear out some of the minions on your way in; it will be marginally less dangerous.

If you can't figure out how to E offensively, you need to work on your positioning.

I've never seen an E (At least that I've used) Ever hit anything but an enemy champ. So obviously somethings wrong with the way you're playing.

Speaking of which, you should only be using your E to catch the kill at the last second or to escape at the last second, never to engage. You're a ranged champ, you have to KITE. Not get right up in their face. The E should only ever be used to get just in range to finish the kill.

Yes, but again. There are times where E would secure the kill, but it won't, because you can't E close enough to target them without a minion being in the way. There are also times where you want to use your E to get a little damage, without having to "all in" for that kill.

You are also entirely missing the fact that AP ezreal has no ability for farming.

As for a "I have never seen an E ever hit anything but an enemy champion"----- You are either really unobservant, lying, or just forgetting about all the times where simple sidestepping was the main goal, and a hit off would have been a secondary benefit.

Well personally I always save the E for an escape because that is his only escape, and will only use it any other time to do one of the following things:

  1. Dodge a skillshot that would lead to my death
  2. Run like a bitch
  3. Finish the kill

And I never get anywhere near my target when I use my E, that would just invite death in most cases. But of all the max range E's I've done around champions I've never recalled any of them missing.

I'll go into a custom game on the 28th and check it out, but I don't think I've ever seen it happen before. You need to rethink the way you use the skill.

That is the complaint with E. By either making it prioritize champions or adding a skill shot to the end of it you'd be able to deal extra damage while using it to kite. Or you'd be able to use it to assassinate a target who is already low (even if they have minions around them).

Or, if you make him fire himself, you'd be able to crowed clear if you are AP, have a semi- more reliable way to deal damage while kiting, or use it to target a specific champion if another is already in the way.

I believe its actually fine the way it is, granted Im not saying I should talk like I know anything about balance for the game but where it sits now its CD is long enough to keep it from being spammed, early game mana costs hurt if you try to abuse it, and its a free dodge/teleport/delayed flash. Making it a skill shot like you suggest just seems like a bit much to me. And yes AP Ez does not have any serious waveclear besides the ult, but spam a few Q's and problem solved.

Arcane Shift autotargetting is overpowering for anyone knowledgeable enough to use it, especially given its almost BS homing range.

No. Changes are nerfs.

About the "AP Ez has no clear" thing, yes he does. His Q, and the reason you would be using his Q to clear is because every time he hits something with his Q it lowers the cooldowns of everything else. So you should be using that as your clear skill.

Also, it already auto-targets champions at least to my knowledge, I've only ever seen it hit minions when champions are not around.
