Skirmishers, not "assassins"

So I was thinking about the general consensus of how kind of unfun it is to play against bursty, high mobility champions. They get in, kill you, and get out. Zed, Fizz, a good Talon, Ekko, situationally Kha'Zix. Now Ahri is certainly in this category, but unless fed, Ahri won't quickly 100 - 0 without landing her charm. And even then there is counter play. I feel like Ahri represents what the assassin class could become, which is more of a "skirmisher". Skirmisher's can be characterized by moderate sustained and burst damage, high mobility, low cool downs, and % missing healthy abilities. Their job being to dance around the outskirts of fights and try and pick off low health enemies. This leaves the job of straight up deleting people to the immobile burst mages (Syndra, Lux, etc.) I'm not complaining about assassins by any means, just was curious to see my league community further expand on and comment on this idea.

Assassins are ment to delete high priority targets before they even get a chance to do anything

To stop a assassin from assassin you team needs to help you

unforunately there aren't enough options to stop them

especially if they snowball then they just delete everyone

too many assasssins have too much aoe or too much sustained damage is the problem, its fine if its just 1 or 2 assassins that can can do it but its a problem if everyone can do it

A Skirmisher has much lower burst than a true Assassin. They typically trade out burst for higher sustained damage or stronger CC or durability.

Old Eve was the prototype Skirmisher. Kha sorta fit the bill when his Ult gave damage reduction whilst invisible. Ekko is a Skirmisher without question. Depending on how you build them, Vi and Jman can fit this category as well.

Ahri isn't a Skirmisher. She's a Mage with Assassin leanings.

IMO skirmishers are better suited to fights that move across the map. So like a fight starts in the enemy jungle and then moves to bot lane. Ekko is good for this bc he can go across walls and has his slow AND he loves being chased. They have the advantage while people aren't fully committed to a fight/cant start one.
