Perhaps look to Caitlyn and Jhin for inspiration on how to change crit chance.

I found it really interesting how champions like Caitlyn, Jhin, and even Quinn use Critical Chance uniquely in their respective kits.

Caitlyn’s Headshot does more damage scaling with crit Chance. Quinn’s passive has a lower CD with crit Chance. Jhin just gets bonus AD from crit Chance.

What if we extended this to all champions that use crit? Crit no longer grants RNG bonus damage, but instead is a specific stat that scales with certain champion passives, and that’s it?

So for example, perhaps Crit Chance lowers the CD on Yasuo’s abilities, but doesn’t actually grant him bonus damage inherently. Crit Chance increases the damage of Twitch’s passive toxin.

Thoughts? Does this seem balanced, and a good way to let ADC’s scale properly?

Xayah's E scales with crit, and Ashe's crit doesn't do more damage but instead gradually does more damage to the same champion and increases the slow on them. I like it better instead of "Lol 10% crit means u died cuz RNG"

Or.. "90% crit let you live cuz bad RNG"

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but if crit didn't make their autos crit as well, none of those champs would want to build crit either lol. A bunch of champs got nerfs then had crit mechanic crutches added to stop them going full lethality builds. If you destroyed AA crits, the crutches wouldn't be worth it and they just wouldn't build it. Cait would just be absolutely gutted because she doesn't have an alternative build path

Caitlyn's headshot is cancer tho. She does like 1K off of it woth iE and RAPID fire alone. Once she gets statik its just ridiculous.

I think it would be really interesting, although hard to implement for all adc. Would probably need to ne renamed into something else than Critical strike too

I like the notion that crit chance somehow scales with success, rather than randomly.

I fear that behavior would be hard to implement on so many different ADCs now, though.

Attackspeed already lowers CD on yasuo Q, E is lowered by leveling

Not saying your idea is bad but as yasuo main I wouldnt accept it since the current system is fine

No, random bonus damage has a lot of positives, even if it has negatives.

I say it every time it comes up: if you're going for an all in where a lucky Crit made a difference, you didn't know for a fact going in that it would have gone the other way if Crit happened at the expected value. You took a risk, and sure maybe the risk should have worked out given how EVERYTHING else played out, but also given how they got 3 Crits throughout the fight instead of the expected 2, you lost. And that's part of the threat that your opponent brings.

Auto attacks may have been cancelled, abilities may have been missed, timing may have been outplayed with bushes, etc... and yet this playerbase is fixated on Crit being the reason they lose fights. It's an excuse for you guys, it's not a problem. No one evaluates down to a single auto attack whether they could have won an engage or not.

Critical strikes have been a random mechanic in many games and have never been a huge problem anywhere else, and league is no different. The only reason people discuss it as a problem is because everyone wants an excuse for why they're bad, because the standard to be "good" in this game is absurd.
