How Important is ARAM

It doesn't have a public MMR or ELO, the balance is wonky, and RNG is noncompetitive. People laugh when I talk about that stuff, but it matters to me. Does it matter to anyone else?

I'm here with ya, i hate when people say "it's just aram" that doesn't excuse feeding, or trolling, or ruining the entire match for other players.

I think there should be a draft version of Aram, or maybe even a blind pick, maybe then people might take it a little more serious.

Because none of that stuff has anything to do with why people play ARAM.

People don't play ARAM for competitiveness

It's call All Random All Mid for a reason no one wants to take it seriously because it's not suppose to be taken seriously.

Though you still have to try and win in ARAM that is a rule.

ARAM is its own meta, and a lot of champs and unique builds thrive there but are bad or subpar on SR. Sona, for example, is an ARAM god. CDR Manamune Ashe is great on ARAM.

It's a nice change of pace, and SR is a balance nightmare this season anyway.

ARAM has neither visible rewards nor regular balance updates. It's also highly approachable for casuals. Thus, many people treat it as a joke mode.

The troubling part is when these people feel justified in screwing around in ARAM without considering other players. For ARAM players, ARAM could be just as important as ranked is for other people. That's not to say that every match has to be srs bsns: League is a game in the end. The problem comes up when "I don't consider ARAM serious/competitive" becomes "No one should consider ARAM serious/competitive." The opposite perspective can also be just as problematic.

Regardless of whether you personally consider something competitive, be considerate, and recognize that other people may have a different viewpoint. This consideration is especially important in ARAM and Dominion, since both casual and competitive players are forced into the same queue.

This is a system that needs fixing. People not caring about the game! My ELO can't go up... I feel trapped.
