@Meddler May I ask why you pulled the Mordekaiser changes?

Don't get me wrong, I'm actually pretty happy they're gone from the PBE, but I don't want to get my hopes up.

Did you find that the direction you went in was not satisfying or are you merely trying to come up with other ways of making Morde not build damage?

I'm just curious to see if you feel like you've learned something from this round of tests or not and what direction you anticipate you'll go for in the future.

Also, while I'm here, I just want to say this : I'm fine with Morde being more tanky and dps oriented, but please don't make his build path a regular bruiser's. I'm sure you can find a way to make him build damage and get tanky BECAUSE he's building damage. IMO making him a health stacker is not the solution, not when his most defining characteristic is probably his shield.

I was not liking the direction that he was going to be honest, im ok with him being Tanky but i would rather it not be his core build. Morde does a lot of damage, but it is all in his E and his Ghost. The ults damage is most of the time ignored, the Q only does substantial damage if they are isolated, the W damage is underestimated and to me it is his best ability. All of it was in his E, i was under the impression they would take the damage from his E and put it into his ult, then give his W some small form of Mobility. I dont like the magnet thing, it doesnt have much to do with his concept anyways and Riot seems to be changing a lot of Move Speed buffs to "when moving towards to...". Something like "Morde gains X amount of movement speed as long as Creeping Death is hitting an enemy champion." would be more acceptable in my opinion.

I am also curious as to why the changes were pulled though, maybe they decided he wasn't working as planned? I mean technically he was actually less tanky with the new changes since he generated overall less shield and in order to gain the normal amount would have to build almost no damage whatsoever meaning he would be nothing but a useless mass of health with no form of CC or Damage.

I mean yeah I don't know what they think Morde is supposed to do if he builds no damage lol

I'm fine with him not being as bursty, but I want him to do damage.

Honestly at first I thought they would lower the base damage on his E, make his ult deal ALL of its damage over time but reduce the total duration to make it a stronger DoT, reduce the CD on his Q and increase the damage on his W

It wouldn't have helped much with his kiteability but he'd still DO something :|

I'm just worried that Morde WILL end up being nothing more than HP, which makes me really sad because when I think of him I think big damage threat

If they didnt want him to be a bursty champ anymore (which it appears they do not) then moving some of the damage from his E to his Q and R would have been the best route. His ult is weird, the Ghost is so strong but in order for you to have a Ghost you need to kill them. Once E is on cooldown they can just run away from you and the ults damage itself is so useless a single health pot can counter it, then they just run to the second turret. Making him more sustained or DoT will actually help him not feel oppressive while at the same time increasing his 1v1 kill potential since he isnt relying entirely on his E to kill them.

Them removing changes from the PBE doesn't really mean anything unless they've specifically stated they're scrapping the kit. They routinely pull the changes while they make tweaks based on what they've seen. You won't really know what they're keeping/changing with the new kit til the release it again.

I believe the new shield changes were pulled simply because they were bugged the entire time it was implemented. Morde is so old that the code surrounding his passive may have been a mess to get through so they pulled it. Instead we have the easy +1 additions to his kit that don't change the entire landscape like adding on range and move speed. Those can be tested for effectiveness while Iron Man can be fixed or reevaluated.

I would expect the shield changes to come back hopefully before 5.4 is released. The changes did actually make Morde's shield scaling more reliable, higher, and healthier. However without having any test data for them actually to discover how much damage needs to be taken away or added vs the new the amount of survivability it would have been irresponsible to keep the changes.

If for some reason they can't find a way to fix Morde's shielding bugs they are going to have to find a new way to address Iron Man.

All he really needs to do is output more sustained AOE dps than AP bruisers competing against him and have his ghost be the best at securing towers and objectives. Both are very doable with the right numbers or possible ability change.

Ugh, I really hope they don't bring those back

I made this thread just to KNOW whether or not I should kiss Morde good bye

The ''suspense'' is just plain awful

Anyway thanks for the insight on the problems Morde had in PBE
