Changes coming to role preference on PBE; you can opt out of your least favorable position

Position Preference In Testing

Check out the full post by following the link above to the PBE board. Basically, Socrates is saying you select your Primary/secondary positions and you sometimes may be put in your 3rd and 4th choices, but you'll never have to play the 5th.

Rejoice, players that don't know what a Ward is, you don't have to autofill into Support for next season! (PBE changes are tentative. Manage expectations accordingly)

This seems pretty neat, I actually don't mind supporting sometimes so if I could put top as my least preferred and support as my 4th without constantly getting it... I will be happy.

Wait, why is this being downvoted? o_o isn't this what the boards were clamoring for?

Either way this is great that they're testing it. I don't mind playing every position, but it definitely helps on the days I don't feel like being ADC :P

I don't see this working very well.

Not saying it will work at all, but it's what the people want anyway. Queue times will go back up for all the people that opt out of Support, and us Support mains will be fine as always :3

I may be a support main myself, but because of that I've got barely any experience in other roles :P (Somehow I always get my role... I wonder why?)

Did this actually ever happen? I can't remember...

They tried it out in Turkey or Brazil and it failed pretty bad, as players (obviously) opted out of Support and all it did was significantly harm queue times. It's not impossible that they might revisit a similar idea, though.

Well the easiest solution to this would be to make it impossible to opt out of support while still being able to do it on the other 4 roles.
