A question about Taliyah

Why does she punish immobile champions harder than mobile? How do I deal with Taliyah as an immobile champion (mage)?

I got demolished by a Taliyah as Lux (my main) yesterday and spent an evening trying to develop a strategy against her. And the thing I realized is that you are much better off with a very mobile champion, since she has her own displacement (W) for combos. If you play a mobile champion you can dash and just take damage from E, otherwise you take a full E-W combo with Q-AA followup, and her damage is so ridiculous early game that she can just kill you with that. This happened on pro streams as well, high elo players admit that she has very high kill pressure early.

PS On a side note, experienced Taliyah players have 60% winrate with her, more than Azir or Kindred when they got nerfed. Is she just op? I know she is rather hard to play, but the same can be said about Azir or Kindred, and they still got nerfed.

I haven't been able to try her yet due to lack of IP, but I think to say she's unbalanced is... probably not too far off the mark. Riot's been really dumb with champion design lately, and making PBE extremely inaccessible hasn't helped the matter of quality control.

I applied for PBE a year ago.

Still haven't gotten a response.

Because of how basic logic works. If you have a kit designed to counter mobility, then by default, you have a kit designed to counter immobility. The idea is that your kit can end mobility, turning the mobile champion immobile and dealing with them. If a champion is immobile already, then the end result is the same. You deal with them. That's why immobile champions tend to be tankier or output much heavier damage.

Taliyah's combo doesn't have much range and has quite a large set up time, as well as being gated by previous combos set up (Worked ground). Force her to stay on worked ground to fight and be wary of being within E range of you.

What you said is more applicable to the likes of Cassio with her grounded debuff. My problem with Taliyah is not exactly that, but the fact that you are actually SAFER as a mobile champion against her, since dashing away and being damaged by just one skill is actually the lesser evil.

As for how to fight her - I tried to stay away from her, but if she approaches me I only have an option to CC her, back off and play scared, almost behind the turret. This is the best solution I came up with for Lux at least. Otherwise she can just close the distance (flash or just walk in) and E-W me.

Well I mean it's not a forced CC like Cass's grounded, but you still don't want to dash through her rocks. You'll take heavy damage. Mobile champions will always do better against champs revolving around skill shots. This one though punishes them unlike someone such as Lux or Xerath who don't have skills directly meant for mobility. There's no immobile champ that's safer than a mobile champ in any scenario really.

As Lux, she has an equal fear of you because if you hit your snare, she's as good as dead. Predict her advances on you, time your Q as such. For her Q to work properly, she needs precise positioning, meaning you've actually got a much easier time aiming your skill shots. You've got the vastly superior poke to hers. You've also aren't really inhibited by minions as she is. I forgot which it was (W or E) but one has a long CD. In direct trades, your E- auto thunderlords should out trade her so long as you've got some sort of minion barrier or you force a trade on worked ground. Try and bait out her W because it has both a delay and a bit of a CD as well as not too much range. Once that is down, any trade is essentially yours.

I don't get it myself, it seems mobility counters her/deals with her fairly easily, just because they can Fuck her combo up with a. Dash, her e doesn't hinder mobility, just damages and slows. Vs immobile champs where her power is stronger and harder to deal with, and with rylais, I can say from personal exeprience, you can fuck over immobile comps. Volibear you want to flip, lol gl with that bud, rylais q e w, later..
