Their kit is toxic as hell for any melee top laner. It doesn't matter what how popular they are in the current meta, it's absolute unfun to play against. They're pretty much the reason why people take unkillable tanks top lane since it's impossible to farm at all if you're playing some kind of melee bruiser.

Alex h87211 votesJayce is actually fairly weak right now, yes he's strong early game and has some range but he can easily get beaten toplane by champs w/ a reliable gapcloser.
Plus Jayce is an early/midgame champ, and his winrate plummets if the game goes past 30 min because jayce's teamfighting is very weak.
Gnar might be a bit overtuned right now but he also has his counters, if you and the jg can gank him when he's just transformed back to mini form he's super squishy, his laning phase isn't as good as jayce's because unlike jayce gnar can't control when he transforms, but in teamfights as mega gnar gnar can make a much bigger impact than jayce. As i said gnar may be a bit overtuned currently but he's not that bad.
