Can someone explain why I just LOST LP for a win? My computer crashed, but I came back.. wtf

Was legitimately hard carrying the match for my team and they all knew it, they were all friendly and we were up 20-4 before my computer decided to crash completely out of the freaking blue..

I came back about 8 min later to my team still stomped 31-11, and them saying things like "dw we're still winning, but we missed you <3"

Then after the match ends, i get a leaverbuster warning and LOST LP instead of gaining it, along with a D- score for my way better score/cs than most in the game.. what the actual fuck right now?! Is this for real??

EDIT: Why would I have even gotten leaverbuster to begin with? I came back, first of all, and secondly.. no one would have reported me for "afk/leaving". what gives?...

If you pass the 8 minute mark and make it back into the game with full determination to win, just don't.

Just stand in fountain saying Riots going to punish you for helping, and apologize for them not letting you continue to play. The same punishment occurs no matter what you choose. Dont be held hostage from the system.

Yeah, I guess it would be cool if your teammates can choose if you gain or lose lp if they win a straight 4v5 or if you actually help the team before it crashes

So you've got to think "what would happen if this system wasn't in place"

Smurfs/boosters would just carry a game 75% of the way, leave, swap accounts, carry a game 75% of the way, leave, swap back etc.

Also most players really dislike having an afk on their team, especially if the afk had all the gold and kills. If those 4 team mates were other players, maybe their reaction would have been different.

You can also make the argument that you made the game worse for the enemy team by afk'ing. A weak argument, but they wanted a 5v5 game when they entered matchmaking, and playing from behind is a good scenario to practice.

Same thing happened to my friend while we were duo. His PC overheated, he was afk for like 5 minutes. We still won the game, I got like 30 LP and he actually lost 10 or 11 LP... He was able to get back on near the end of the game as well.
