Solution to Dynamic Queue Support Problems

As most people are aware, the new dynamic queue has a serious problem for anyone who wants to try a single champ in a single role (as was possible in the old teambuilder). A lot of people have been talking about bringing back the old teambuilder/allowing you to choose only one lane, but Riot is unlikely to do so at this point for a variety of reasons.

However, another option is available that will keep the spirit of the new dynamic queue while allowing windows where you can cherry pick your lane. In ARAM you can reroll your character, but are only able to do so every so often. You have 2 max stored rerolls, and additional rerolls are accumulated over time. A similar function could be imported to the new queue so you could occasionally keep your secondary role empty, but would force people to play additional games under the current status quo in order to earn points to do so again.

Thoughts as to whether this would be a fair method of giving us a taste of the old teambuilder?

Since Ranked and Normal Draft use the same system, I don't think Ranked should change, but for Normals just let you pick as many or few roles as you want. Want Support only? Only queue as Support. Want anything but Support? Queue as the other 4.

Just not for Ranked. You are expected to be able to play more than one role.

Agreed, mastering 5 roles isn't always reasonable IMHO but mastering 2 should be expected. I was thinking of applying this to normals only, although with the limiting factor I proposed I don't think it would be a real problem in ranked (since you could only opt for 1 role once every 5+ games).

My only Dynamic Queue Support problem is that I can't get it half the time [slayer-jinx-unamused]

idk how that would interact with "role diversity" on party queues

Can you clarify what you mean by that? My proposal wasn't meant to address role diversity, so not sure what you are getting at.
