Is adaptive helm a bad item?

I was yelled at for building it on

They said its a "trash item" and that I should have gone instead (*our team didnt have a healer though?) and the enemy team was mostly ap with spammable spells....in the end I still get shredded by a with )according to them).

But ya is really that bad? I even argued that it only has 100 hp less then but they complained about me being as squishy as an adc.

Is the passive on really that bad that its not even worth 100 hp? Does anyone build against spam heavy ap teams like ?

as every one has stated item 3194 was a good choice considering what you were facing...

its a situational item which all items should be. vs a champ like teemo, cass, singed etc that does massive dot damage and most of their damage comes from a single spell it helps you sustain really well

Adaptative helmet is good against sustained magic damage like Passive, Azir Soldier basic attack, Cassiopeia Whole poison kit, Evelynn Eve Q, Fiddlesticks Fiddle drain and crowstorm, Fizz Fizz W poison damage, Heimerdinger Heimer tower damage, Karthus Karthus E Katarina , Ult and Shunpo reset, Kayle Kayle E basic attack, Kennen Kennen ult , Lissandra Q , Malzahar E and R, Morgana tormented soil, Orianna basic attack, Rumble Rumble flame thrower and ultimate, Swain Swain Q E and ultimate, Taliyah Taliyah Q, Teemo Teemo poison and shrooms, Velkoz Velkoz kit as he can spam pretty quick, Viktor Viktor ult and E evolved , Xerath Xerath ultimate, Ziggs Ziggs Q and E, Zyra Zyra plant damage... this item is not bad at all, it just fit it's niche and don't let people say you are dumb or whatever for picking an item to counter X champion. You do what you can, good luck on the rift !

Helm is much better for Rammus than Visage unless the passive will never block damage.

I like Adaptive Helm. It's only useful against certain champions, but overall I think it's a good item.

Honestly you made the correct choice with Adaptive Helm because of that comp. Spirit Visage is more cost efficient, but Helm's passive would have ended up being better cost wise.
