it's easily the most punishing level 1 skill in the game. I really feel like it needs some more drawbacks like if he misses, like his fist flies off it doubles the cd until he picks it up or reduced his base attack damage.

I mean ridicilous manacosts, high cooldown, his kit doesnt work without landing a grab that is a skillshot? What do you want more? If he misses 1 hook that he instantly dies? Lets be real, its already a bit too punishing for him if he misses the hook because good enemies will make the lane a 2 v 1 for the duration of his q cd.

Yeah thats why fizz gets dumbstered earlygame from equally skilled opponents. Luckyly fizz's kit has a good fallback patern, means he finds back into the game at level 3+. Meanwhile blitzcranks power after laning is reduced by a ton and is punished more if his earlygame didnt go as well. I dont think one of both champs needs change actually, they are pretty fair imo. ( even though people rage about fizz I personally never had a problem against him, maybe because I always pick riven into him and make him ragequit but hey!)

His ult is still too strong, its damage is too high, low cooldown, silence effect. But yeah, if we're talking about early game, you're right.

Blitz is a moment changer for sure, but far from any sort of a problem, and he definitely doesn't lack counterplay.
