This has happened to me way too much this season and I thought it was the reason why autofill was implemented, why not just match me against another support, there can't be that many of us support mains to have 2-3 on the same team?
Flawless Fetus8 votesI don't know why people pretend auto fill is auto support. It's fill. If you're queued up for support, and there is a shortage of tops, you're getting filled top. The reason auto fill makes you fill is because that's it's goal. Lol.

Fondling Gems2 votesI think what the OP is saying is that a large portion of games have an autofilled support. Ideally if there were two games in creation and 2 players queued as support each game would get one. The OP was wondering why he gets into games with other support players when there is a shortage of support players to go around and it makes more sense to split them up between games.
I personally can say (I made a joking post about it a while back) that in a non ranked draft game I got queued with 4 other support mains. If people are really getting autofilled support as much as they complain about it then why did 5 support players who all queued sup/fill get matched together?

This was happening to me when I took Top as secondary.
Now I choose Support primary and Mid secondary.
Never been put mid. If I did, chances are that someone would trade me.

Riot, appears to be using autofill to slap people into playing other roles. I don't like to be slapped.
Therefore, i do not support RIOT monetarily. I encourage others to do the same. If it continues enough i will eventually migrate to another game as others eventually will too.

Except, like said, that's not at all what you're talking about. What you're trying to "Boycott" is heavily subjective on how different people see it. What I see talking about in your OP is "I don't like how the game is being balanced, so I'm gonna not spend money so Riot balances it the way I want".
You're not dissatisfied with an actual product, you're dissatisfied with a free Service. You not spending money on a free service isn't going to teach anyone anything. Unless you stop playing completely, you're not showing your point, as you're still creating the environment other people enjoy, and if other people enjoy, they're just as likely to recommend to their friends (keep in mind, not everyone shares your opinion).
If you want to make difference, stop playing the game, and don't recommend the game to friends. Your "spend with your dollar" only applies to an actual product.

You are filled into the role that is needed most at the time. The Matchmaker doesn't care that mid is the most popular role and that support is the least popular role. What it does care about is getting players to a role in a reasonable amount of time. If there are some players matched together that need a middle laner, and there's a support primary who has been in queue for awhile, then the support primary might get autofilled mid. Support is just the most popular fill and least popular role for being autofilled because support has the least amount of players queueing for support primary. Still, players can be filled into other roles than support, and supports can be autofilled out of support, if the current matchmaking situation could be expedited by doing either of those things.

This entire season, the only role I've been autofilled into is support. Never, not even once, has it been some other position. :(

You are guaranteed your primary or secondary pick (since support is always faster queues and AF protection). You probably just got your secondary choice. It happens to me from time to time although it's very rare.
