These Sol nerfs kind of hurt.

I didn't think they'd be a big deal looking at them but considering his biggest strength was pushing and roaming in the early game, as well as early all ins with W, he doesn't feel particularly good atm. Pushing the wave early will basically make you oom after two waves where before he could do 3-5 depending. The nerf to early W damage as well makes him a much worse duelist in the early levels. You have to play more passively now meaning you can't roam, and he's not particularly good at straight up fighting other good mid laners so I'm not really sure how to approach the champion now.

I don't get why they hit him so hard when he had such a low play rate and wasn't even particularly high on the win rates before. Why was Sol a priority when there's been other high win rate problem champions for a long time that get left untouched?

They buffed his passive star damage and nerfed the W part of it. I think it should even out mid-game numbers-wise?

Someone who would for sure know why/feel context would be the rioters on this thread http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/developer-corner/7yF6cZbk-patch-chat-with-the-playtest-team-619-kogmaw-un-rework They specifically mention asking Cezium about it. I hope you get the response you're looking for OP.

So when i first saw these i nearly puked because they were decimating the champ i just settled down on. After playing a couple of games, his E is... it's fine i guess. But the knee-jerk reaction to nerf his damage by half and double the mana cost was childish at best. I understand Asol wasn't in the best spot since he was dominating high elo but to nerf him so hard and ruin it for anybody below diamond 3 is horrid. Nerf the damage, or mana cost. one or the other not both please

I'm not too happy about it as i'm sure you can see.

The point of a nerf is to make the champ weaker, not stronger.

I think the point of the changes were to make him both more approachable and less top performance OP.

Though it is kinda sad they keep hammering him earlyyy when a lot of professional mid laners don't really even play him because he's that finicky of a champion.. And it's weird W only gets 5 dmg per rank... And a little bit of cooldown which helps but...

I think you're expected to go back to Q max first now because W only gains a piddlely 5 damage per rank, the rest coming from levels. Being less tied to the W early game and gaining more stun strength is supposed to benefit newer AS players I think. You'll still need to do most work with your W ofc so it's not like it's phased out completely.

SIT THE FUCKK DOWN BOI. These are BUFFS AF. He does the same amount of damage, mana increase inst noticeabl cause you can wait to trade at lvl 3 where it evens out again, and hes SAFE AF now.

The Increased damage on his passive instead of his stars now mean that he doesnt have to use w to do more damage, people that come into his safe zone take mroe damage. ITS SO AWESOME!

ALL these changes do arent nerf, they just make him less of a lane bully and more of a moderate, but scale insanely mage laner.

DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED ABOUT THE NEW E.

Being ganked? E!

Roaming? E!

Steal Dragon or KS? E!

These changes REALLY shape his character and hes much more balanced in the way he should be, HELL even strong in the way he should be.

That is my piece from a Sol Main.

Well in few days we will see how the nerfs actually hitted him in 6.19

It's because he was dominating early laning phase in high elo's and low MMR mids were able to push out high MMR mids with relative ease due to his huge aoe and damage to minions. Just like Taliyah got a big minion damage early game lane clearing nerf so did Sol. Sorry.

Small nerf where deserved ... but they hitted him too much.
