Where do you think Aurelion Sol will play?

It kinda looks like he could be a tanky/ap jungler, but it also seems like a mid laner as well. His e could either be a gank or roam tool. He has a lot of cc which also fits a good ganking jungler, Thoughts?

Support.

Mid, top, and jungle.

Jungle will probably be his weakest role. Not because of his ganks, mind you, but his clear times and jungle sustain are probably low.

I agree on the clear times and sustain. That's probably going to be about as strong as teemo jungle: Possible but not ideal.

They're pretty great actually.

Mid mainly, maybe top lane like lissandra. And he really doesn't have much CC. His stun is only 2 seconds at max rank, and the only other CC he has is bound to his ult

It's actually longer when traveled with.

No, it's bigger. That's the only thing that gets charged. Damage, stun duration, and mana cost are all regulated by level.

? So it's damage and stun duration arent increased per distance but everyone said it is O_o Welp either or is fine by me.

Mainly mid, he can go top, and jungle. Gonna be better mid than top I believe due to his passive. Since it's pretty avoidable if you stick to him in melee range, and most top laners are melee. Meanwhile, he can definitely keep ranged mages wary of him thanks to his passive and W enhancing the range and speed of his passive.

Support because look at those bases.

I'm gonna say primarily jungle, then mid and possibly even support.

Jungle should be obvius, free damage without mana costs and a AoE stun if you need it, he can gank from a huge distance no matter the terrain and can come in with a huge area stun and extra CC once he hits level 6.

Mid will work for kinda the same reasons, while I don't know how easy he will play in lane and how his trades will go you have the potential to out sustain your opponent at least in mana costs. And your roams will be amazing.

I can also see him working as a support but it'll be tricky (or not work at all), he has the CC for it and might be able to zone like crazy, just gotta watch out about pushing lane or messing up the CS of your ADC. Would work as a roaming support though, you'll get around easy enough.

Hell, he might even work top, not like you have to waste mana to work on their big HP bars. I am worried about champions with gap closers though so top will be really dependent on who your facing.

I really do not see him top lane with champions like: DrMundo Irelia Jax Riven Volibear Trundle FioraGaren who can stay inside of his rings...at least until Aurelion buys a rylais. He has CC but most of these top laners build so tanky that they will outlast his stun and go to town on him.

He's a mid laner, period. It's a safe lane for him to build up his tank while also having hard cc to keep assassins from trying to get sassy. Plus his W looks like it's good enough to get CS with if he needs to stay away and his AA range is standard range anyway.

Most of you guys forget his passive executes minions too, so CS'ing even under tower will be EZ-PZ. His mobility, while not Le blanc tier, is pretty good for a mage and gives him top-notch roaming ability.

I don't say this often, but I'm really looking forward to learning this champs ins and outs. Who knows? Maybe this champ will be my ELO carry.
