Can we take a moment to appreciate how much LoL players have improved.

I may have skipped a few seasons, but I still remember what the first seasons looked like. The stuff I have seen back then defies description.

I'm genuinely amazed by how much better the average lol player has become. Nowadays I see silvers and golds making plays which were deemed high elo moves back in the day. General awareness and decision making have also become much more reliable and consistent.

Maybe we have LCS and its variations to thank for that, I don't know though. I'm just writing this to take a step back from the confined thinking about ranks so that people remember where we come from and appreciate the improvement.

really? in my silver games its like 85% of the people dont know how to play and one team is down like 10+ kills at the 20 min mark

I obviously can't judge your games but doesn't that imply that at least one team had some grasp on what they were doing?

Your experience in silver could also have something to do with the current aggressive meta.

Im also not trying to say that every player plays smooth and perfect nowadays, but I noticed however that the basic understanding of the game and the mechanics has improved a lot. It's not perfect, but noticably better for sure.
