What to change (Part 1: champions) (Chapter 2: Alistar)
Note: I will leave out champions that i find balanced, or champions that don't need that significant changes to fit in the meta, so if you search for an Ahri
Or an Akali
thread by me, you probably won't find it. However, let's get to this chapter's participant, Alistar.
The problem with Alistar is that he's supposed to be a support. Well, not entirely. The problem with him is that he can be used as a bruiser because of his mana cost changes lately. So now, he has the same problem that Soraka
had some time ago. He has too good sustain paired with his current tools. In Alistar's case the solutions could be the following:
-
Decrease his damage and icrease his defensive tools to fit a support's role.
-
Change his passive to: When taking damage, slightly increase nearby ally's attack speed and cooldown reduction. This passive would fit his "initiate and soak up damage" role, and would force him to stick to allies and do his job as a tanky support. The attack speed and cooldown reduction can be replaced with any other stat, and i think this bonus should increase with the time Alistar has been taking damage. For example: this bonus increases by 10% for every five seconds of taking damage, and rapidly decreases after 1 second of not taking damage. This would force his enemies to mostly focus on the carries and would create a more exciting teamfight all along for both sides.
-
Change his heal to have a health percent ratio. The reason is simple: It would make ap items for Alistar less valuable, while making health items more valuable, so making him a better tanky support. Example: Alistar heals his allies by X (+5/7/9/11/13% of his maximum hp). The heal is decreased by 5% for every ally healed (minions included). It's important in this version of Alistars E to not heal himself so it takes away the chances of any toplane Alistars.
-
Rework him into a bruiser because why not?

Next time i will take on Amumu, the sad mummy.
