Notification when Reported: Instant feedback is too instant.

Recently, people I report seem to get instant notifications when I report them. I don't know if there's a name attached, or if they're just good at guessing, but invariably, after I report somebody, they then rage at me and redouble their verbal abuse. This has happened three or four times in the past week.

I report people because I am uncomfortable being verbally abused. If reporting people makes me a target for further verbal abuse, I am therefore less likely to report people. I'm sure it's not the intent of your system to make players feel punished for reporting people. Especially when the players most in need of reporting are the ones most likely to abuse you for hitting the report button.

I recognize and agree that the sooner people get feedback, the more likely they are to change. But seriously, could the "you've been reported" notification be changed to it pops up when you leave post-game chat? That'd be helpful to the people doing the reporting.

Yeah, it should be changed to after they leave the lobby

This is important, nice catch

The notification should appear as soon as you leave the aftermatch chat. Most people just report the person that reported them back. This is the biggest cause of those undeserved punishments.

That explains something. About a week ago I won a game, but felt our jungler was toxic, especially since we were ahead. I reported him and the next thing in chat was "wow a report? nice." I was wondering how he know

If this is true, and it notifies the person, then that means I have never, ever been reported for anything. What. The. Fuck.

I think most of the people commenting here about how Riot should disable the report system and talking about how reporters of verbal abuse are whiny pansies are probably the very trolls that are being reported. I shouldn't be surprised anymore. But I am always shocked still to read people talk about how people should expect to insulted by jerks every time they play a game and accept it as part of life. I have rarely been treated as rudely in person while playing a game as here, but if I was, I would expect to have a talk with the host and let them know the behavior of their other guest was clearly out of line and not expect to have us both back at the same time again. If she turned around and told the jerk what I had said while we sat there, I would feel pretty insulted. I think if you can't understand the point the OP is trying to make, then you really need to go play some games with others in person and find out how it is in the real world. When you sit down to play a game with a stranger and insult them over and over then you realize you are lucky that Riot is so lenient with the trolls.

Riot doesn't issue a pop-up warning every time someone gets reported, just if there are a bunch of reports filed against them in a relatively small number of games.

If the system chooses to present one, it's supposed to pop up after they leave the lobby. (Seriously, do you think Riot didn't think about this? The reporting system has been in place for like three years.) Occasionally people have claimed buggy behavior like this -- but I rarely, if ever, see anyone claiming to be the one getting the pop-up at the wrong time.

It's likely the player was fishing to see if anyone would admit to filing a report so they could counter-report them.

The system enables trolls and toxic kids. What else is new?

mmm, this has happened a few times to me as well, but I would own up and tell them they were being a dick b/c I have a much thicker skin online then I do irl, lol.

Now, however, when I'm done reporting I leave the chat immediately afterwards: I ain't got time to deal with that.

To the point: having the person in question get notified in the post game chat is not cool, def should not be happening.

I'm going to impart onto you a horrible truth, and I'll inevitably get down voted because of it because of how Socially/politically incorrect what I'm about to type is, but I'm going to do it anyway: You're a pansy, you need to grow some balls. If you're a girl then herp derp.

Something that often happens to me is that when I report someone and they notice, they will find some random excuse to report me back. I've literally stopped reporting people for fear of them falsely reporting me as "pay back." I still report afk's though, since they can't report me.

What do you consider verbal abuse?

I've had tons of people say it is " toxic " to say stop feeding. People get too butt hurt. There is a MUTE FUNCTION.

Just mute whoever is saying things you don't like, and you no longer have an issue. Right?

FlaminMoe7/19/2015, 12:12:29 AM1 votes

If the person I reported sends me a friend request I usually accept it and then SS the chat logs as I might be able to use it later.

I can't fathom how creative people get to come up with stuff to complain about.

This game is becoming total garbage. Report system needs rework or needs to be disabled.

Idk, I love to see their salty tears when they get that popup on their screen after being toxic all game.
