I mean seriously it just creates toxic games for people trying to advance especially when you hit your promos and suddenly your put against people that are smurfing bronze/silver/gold and you just get smashed with no real chance of even a try at game play.
It is not fun and it is more than a little frustrating to continue to have people doing this either to help their friends with freelo or just to stomp new players from being able to move forward.
Riot can't exactly do anythign against Smurfs. Since (for the average player) it's not common knowledge if an account is a smurf or not.
and thus it not being disallowed = why LoL still has one of the most toxic communities in the gaming world. because people know they can get away with being toxic as it costs them nothing to start again and troll more. or just troll on their side accounts and smurf accounts so that their main account does not get banned. And smurfing also allows each arena to stack their opponents by only allowing who they want to compete --- which probably means let some of the worst of the worst stay in each league so that the trollers/smurfs/competitors can easily keep their positions by playing versus the unskilled they have helped or boosted up.
Same way suddenly when skins were put up for gold or higher suddenly a massive influx of elo boosting just for the skin went on. I am pretty sure those can be tracked.
Heck hire some rioters who just spectate random games in promos to watch for trolling and whatnot -- let them flag accounts to keep an eye on for suspicious activity.
There are ways.
I am just tired of getting bounced between b2 to b5 because of trolls/smurfs and toxic players who some have admittedly try to block players because they do not "feel" that the other deserves to advance.
well one quick way is using lolking for some as they actually show some peeps who have accounts under the same name -- another would be ip checks -- when you have multiple accounts from the same ip and its traced to a home router... probably smurf accounts ..or troll accounts.
also when people admit to smurfing those accounts should be shut down -- put a new report option in -- heck put one in for just trollers that do not necessarily fit under the ones shown already.
Put new rules in for creating accounts that have to be verified so people cannot make useless gmail or other email accounts to mass produce fake accounts -- heck put a name check in --- pretty easy to weed out 90% of the inappropriate names.
Right now one of the reasons people find it so easy to continue trolling or being toxic is even with bans they just go create another account and begin again. There is very little to dissuade people who enjoy just screwing with others to fully stop.

There is no way to prove or even just know hence, it is not disallowed.
Isn't riot resetting everyone from their rank, like if you're Gold, you start all over again to like, you're first ever game in ranked. Idk if this is true, but i remember hearing it somewhere.

I've been lucky. Both times there have been smurfs in my ranked games, they were on my team. Thank you for my Bronze IV promotion, 30/1 platinum smurf.
There are also games where you get carried by a smurff, no?
riot cant tell apart smurfs from non smurfs like i sure wouldnt know unless they told me either they are really good or my team sucks 99% of the time, my team sucks
