State of Lissandra?

So recently, I picked up this character, and I've only played like 5 ranked games with her with decent sucess, 4/1. However I was wondering what she's considered in comparison to the rest of mid laners, I know that control mages will always be strong because of the cc and utility they can provide, however is it just me or do most other control/lockdown type mages do WAY more damage than Liss. On champ gg, she is the ranked 45/50 for damage dealt, and considering she's almost all aoe damage, this is super low... Does she possibly need a damage buff or am I not building her right? While I do have success with her the best thing I have is teamfights, in any lanes with enemies longer range than Liss (which is most lanes), I can almost never win lane unless they're squishy enough to all in so someone like lux or something, otherwise if I trade hit for hit I can't do much. Does Liss need a buff in her q or w? because I feel like she can constantly get pushed out of lane just because her trading is kind of hard.

Nice place. A little cold though.

Sorry, that was a dumb joke, but I had to.

To honestly answer your question. Lissandra isn't really meant to be a high burst mage. You are correct in saying that she is a control mage, but she is meant to be more on the tanky side, with sustained damage. Her relatively low cooldowns and her passive makes her better at putting out low numbers to a larger number of enemies fairly often. Also she is deceptively mobile with her E. Beyond laning, she really shines in team fights when you use her ultimate and W to pick off enemies who are out of position or to dive into a group of enemies and ult yourself so your allies can chain cc/chunk down the enemy team while you remain relatively safe.

So do I think she needs a damage buff, .. not really. Would I be happy to see her get one, .. Yeah sure.

I actually play lissandra more top, than mid just because it feels safer and it becomes reliable to stop a top laner from snowballing. She isn't intended to 100-0 somebody, she is meant to poke and poke and if someone even tries to burst her down she can freeze them and walk away laughing. Her q is very strong and doesn't need a buff. Imo, lissandra is pretty weak in the midlane compared to many other champions. I haven't checked what you have built on her but you can't get pushed out of lane as liss. it just shouldn't be possible. Your passive and a rod of ages alone can afk farm like a malz/morgana.
