Changes to Support S5?

I was wondering how Riot felt about supports? I do not really feel that supports hit the mark that riot wanted at the start of S4. They do get more gold but the feeling of getting stronger thru out the game like laners never got to materialize.

I was kinda wondering if changes to sight stone would work. Only getting health is a little limited. Being able to choose other stats for the sight stone would be great.

What are you talking about, I loved how the season went. Support main since S3. The trinkets was a great idea and i actually liked the 3 wards 1 pink limit per player, as it forces your team to ward if you want to not have a pure black map. I got to get full build so many times compared to last season.

You can easily carry as support, trust me on that. It just comes down to knowing how to play in general, since a support champion is not to be a hyper carry in the first place. You're there for utility and saving your team from deaths / Disrupt the enemy, not to have 10k DPS.

I think Rito is going to delete supports for season 5. Supports have CC and CC is toxic to their ADCs.

I think the only thing that will get Riot to look at supports again is if it again becomes a huge problem in champ select where its causes lots of negative drama because no one is wiling to support. Sure that still happens but much less than it use to and I think from Riots perspective thats good enough.

Riot has shown through their actions of nerfing any support champ or items that dares disrupt the health of some other lane that they consider support a second class lol citizen whos needs always take a backseat to the needs of the other more important roles.

Maybe if teambuilder que times get super long primarily because no one will que as support that could prompt Riot too.

Basically just look for when the lack of interest in playing support impacts peoples abilities to play the other roles Riot finds more important and then you will probably see more positive attention given to supports. Until that happens though, Riot wont do shit. They will just say they are happy enough with how things are and would rather put their attention to areas that need more help (translation: to roles that they consider more important).

On a real note, sightstone needs to be changed. You should be able to get something out of it instead of 150 health. That is basically useless late game.

Horny Sergal Said : I'm a support main but loved only having three wards.

Excuse me, what? Having to rely on my team mates to light up the map? No thanks. I'll happily return to being a ward bot if it means my team doesn't get caught everywhere.

The average S3 build looked like this: item 3096 item 3067 item 2044item 2045 item 2043item 3117 ; item 2047 400g/4 min. If your team was really far ahead, you might be able to finish your Shurelya's or build a Locket!

The average S4 build looks like this: item 3069 item 3190item 3222item 2045 item 2043 item 3117item 3364 Actual items may vary, but the fact remains that outside of GP10/Sightstone/Mobos, you can build whatever you want, and you have the Gold for it. In some cases, assist streaks brings Support Gold income to solo lane levels.

We're really far away from the starved support meta.

I don't think supports will ever be as strong as a full blown laner. I mean, its in the name, they SUPPORT.

I don't think riot actually wants supports to be stronger sadly. They want supports to feel stronger but if anything as someone who was a support main until a few months ago, I felt weaker as the season went on not stronger.

Supports were simply relegated back to ward bots as people don't even use their warding trinkets most of the time, I'm constantly yelled at for not blocking every skill shot my ADC can't be bothered to side step, and I still rarely have the money for anything outside of support items unless the game is a 50 kill stomp.

Would love to see some well thought out changes this pre season.

I would love to see more support items in general, or at least more reward for playing support. Its an underappreciated role. But it is a role that needs to be played. I think for one the sightstone needs different versions to make it more rewarding to get. One thing especially since every support rushes it is, sure you get wards and a tad bit more HP but now you are made even weaker. Im not saying support should be ultra super strong but adding an enchantment such as with boots to the sightstone. At first you get sightstone then you can upgrade it to "Sightstone of ____" say one upgrade gives you ap, one gives ad,one gives mr, armor, ect (and just like boots you could only have one upgrade to it)? It would make getting the sightstone an interesting choice and allow even more build options. Assists should give more gold possibly or something done.

I fell like supports gained a good chunk of power. I even build Deathcap on Sorala from time to time, hell those heals!

Supports should have significantly higher base stats and base damages imo but low ratios.
