Can we just remove the report function?

Its a broken system that never needed to exist in the first place. Its completely unreliable and inconsistent. Split pushing is good, unless you negative (KDA), then you can get banned for it. Being toxic is bad, being afk is also considered bad. But going off to farm jg instead of protecting nexus is ok, so is replacement words or words that just get the meaning across which in otherwise would be considered toxic is also fine. And this is completely ignoring the post-game chat. Which is about as tame if Quentin Tarantino and Deadpool made a porno. To its credit, it (reporting) does do something, it does pick up the some profanity. Here is where it has the most gray area. Simple calling someone an ass is normally not banned, nor is calling them a variety of curse, name calling, and creative insults that are border line poetry. Its seems to come down to Quantity, that's it. The fucks per a minute if you will. This has been the only constant sure fire way to get banned, but that's it. So clearly it has more than it fair shares of problems, and if it cannot be consistent, then it doesn't work. A fundamental part of a "punishment" is consistency otherwise it doesn't work. So now you have a PROVEN that it fails on a fundamental level. Lastly, and I find this the biggest reason. Why are you policing us in a GAME. Profanity is expected in games, league is no exception. And with one of the most policed games in all of history, it also has one of the most toxic communities. To the point that I question if there is some correlation. Like the bans are actually making it worst. Simple example is when someone gets banned, fair or unfair, there is a negative response (Surprising I know). Which creates a cascading effect. CS:GO has a similar structure but no where near the toxicity. Some of this can be tracing CS:Go as a team, but league as 5 individuals. They are conceptually different in that manner.

I mean if you want to be able to freely ruin the game for others without punishment, then yeah, we can remove the report system. There are a lot of things that can get you banned in League. Hell, simply sitting there typing a novel instead of, you know, playing the game can get you banned, especially if you're not saying anything positive or helpful. It's a team game, and chat only exists to help you communicate with your team. If you want to abuse it to make your team feel like shit, then you're going to get punished, and you deserve it. Same goes for if you int, troll, afk, ect. Also, they do look at pre and post game chat, and now it's even included in the cards you get when you're given a restriction/ban.

Ok sure but why1 votes

I mean currently, people freely ruin the game for others by inting whilst typing "lol mb" in the chat, hoping their teammates will eventually rage and hit them with the Chat Restricc

They ban system has not and has never worked as intended. It does not, prevent toxicity, prevent repeat offenders, nor does it picking up trolling. The only thing it can do is detect certain flagged profanity, or detect deaths per min (aka. Int Feeding). Just the extremes, nothing else. So everything else is permitted, what isn't allowed isn't constantly punished, nor does it understand more alternative offensive comments. Constancy is the foundation of negative reinforcement, failure to do so not only renders it ineffective, but can result in the opposite.

Broken no, subpar yes, never needed to exist, hell no.

No you don't.

Also false.

And this is completely ignoring the post-game chat. Which is about as tame if Quentin Tarantino and Deadpool made a porno.

???

To its credit, it (reporting) does do something, it does pick up the some profanity. Here is where it has the most gray area. Simple calling someone an ass is normally not banned, nor is calling them a variety of curse, name calling, and creative insults that are border line poetry. Its seems to come down to Quantity, that's it. The fucks per a minute if you will. This has been the only constant sure fire way to get banned, but that's it.

Also false, you can say all the fucks, shits, and ass as much as you please, don't point it at someone, you won't be banned.

So clearly it has more than it fair shares of problems, and if it cannot be consistent, then it doesn't work.

That isn't at all how things work. The police system also has problems, sooooo, we should get rid of it then? This is basically what you are saying.

A fundamental part of a "punishment" is consistency otherwise it doesn't work. So now you have a PROVEN that it fails on a fundamental level.

You have proven nothing.

Lastly, and I find this the biggest reason. Why are you policing us in a GAME. Profanity is expected in games, league is no exception.

Which is why you are allowed to curse as long as it isn't pointed towards people and/or isn't a homophobic or racist slur.

And with one of the most policed games in all of history, it also has one of the most toxic communities.

Yeah, it is the largest game, thus most toxic community.
