Something something gonna be so OP, something something deleted this champ from the game. Complain complain complain.

Had yall ever played against old galio as any medium range mage? It was complete cancer.

Old warwick could solo baron at 28 min w/ item 1416 item 3153 item 3065 item 3047

Old aatrox and irelia were damn near pure stat-checks (plus aatrox being able to potentially have a free revive at level 1 lmfao)

Old Katarina if even a little bit ahead could easily triple kill your botlane and jg w/ her ez mode resets.

Now all these champs are less cancerous w/ more counterplay (and skill expression), and arguably all have higher playrates than before their reworks.

Current akali is one of the most braindead assassins, her ult is a targeted potential triple gapclose (more if you get extra ult charges from kills/assists), all her damage is incredibly easy to land and her kit is super forgiving. New akali you actually have to land skillshots and play around your passive if you want optimal damage (not just preping your passive by autoing a minion once LUL), and you don't have nearly as much mobility in your kit so you actually will have to think before just dumping all your skills on someone to try and kill them.

New akali, LIKE THE OTHER RECENT REWORKS, looks like she will be a more balanced and healthy champ than the old one.

TLDR: stop bitching about reworks, because in actuality they have really done a pretty damn good job with them.

Everyone seems so dang biased against literally every change Riot makes. Revert that, revert this. C'mon, changes in general seem good to me! At least Riot wants to improve the game.

Disagree.

4.20 weedwick

But I don't think the complaints are from the fact that the changes were necessarily bad, as much as they were taking away a champion's core gameplay.

Take Aatrox for example. He used to be the lifesteal-AA based fighter that could outsustain just about anyone in a 1v1. Then they turned him into a spellvamp-based juggernaut that relies on hitting sweet spots for a metric fuckload of damage.

Cool? Yes. Does it play like Aatrox? No.

I think well done reworks that kept the champion's core gameplay were things like Warwick, Galio, and Irelia. Warwick still feels like the low-health hunter that he was designed to be, Galio still feels like the MR tank/pseudo mage that can decimate teamfights with incredible AoE CC potential, and Irelia still feels like the dueler that dances around with dashes and empowered AAs, and is really good at taking out squishies.

Don't get me wrong, I think the Akali rework keeps her gameplay very similar to the old one: 1 stealth zone that lets her decimate squishies with incredible mobility and burst, ESPECIALLY because they kept the empowered AA on her passive. I think Akali's rework is a very well done one that keeps the core concept of the character, and the gameplay very similar.

Not all reworks were good -cough- Shen, LeBlanc, Rengar -cough-.

How was Aatrox a stat check? He had 2 skillshots and his passive is a conditional stat boost (which, as stated by lead designer Ghostcrawler, isn't a stat check because you can play aorund it).

Old Shen is better, even if some people bitched about his Q, at least he did something, now he's useless.

League should focus more on adding to what is currently in the game as opposed to replacing it. The constant barrage of reworks this year has not only made the game so much harder to keep up with for the average player base, but they also just aren't as exciting to many people who don't play the champion being reworked. I know players on here like to taut that reworks are amazing and omg we should have exclusively reworks from now on but now that League is so heavily rework oriented, it is not only angering and alienating players who mained the champion being reworked, but also creating far less hype than new champions often do like Ekko, Tahm Kench, Xayah, Rakan, etc.

Reworks are a trap in concept because they are trying hard to make a champion appeal to players who don't currently find that champion interesting, but in doing so they often lose lots of aspects that drew that champion's original player base to them in the first place.

I sure hope all you people crying for reworks constantly are happy with what you've done to the new champ/rework cycle this season. Because I sure as hell don't think it is healthy for the game in the long run.
