My Thoughts on the Luden's Changes

Luden's Echo is undoubtedly one of the most powerful items in-game. Offering 120 AP and an incredibly strong passive, it rewards nearly all types of champions - burst assassins benefit from the extra damage, while sustained DPS mages can charge it easily. It's even a staple pick on long-cooldown mages who don't seem to synergize with the item.

However, I disagree with the methods being used to nerf the item. AP Ratio on passive being nerfed from 15% to 10%. That's not the problem. The problem is the 100 base damage which provides a massive early-game powerspike to all mages. It increases their poke combo by damage early. Hit that instead so that Luden's finds more of a niche on late-scaling DPS mages and doesn't fall off lategame.

Charges gained from casting a spell reduced to 10 from 20. I think this is a bit heavy-handed, considering the fact that spellcasts are on a far longer cooldown than basic attacks, and players should be rewarded for alternating casting and moving, not merely walking around and throwing poke. Maybe hit it to 15.

EDIT: Thanks to Vistha Kai for catching my weird mistake. Sorry, wasn't entirely concentrated when I typed this.

Nerfing the speed it charges seems like a good way to nerf it to me. Changing the ap scaling changes nothing imo, its already an early game item.

You would think it would cost same has deathcap or hourglass 3,300 instead of 3,100. just as good no?

I could have sworn that on release the charges were 50 per spell. It may have been a bug though. Either way, luden's echo janna with 40% cdr was scary back then. Mages like karthus and cass who spam might still get a large number of procs

What seems stupid is that it charges faster by moving than Statikk and on top of that they are nerfing how fast it charges by using spells.

What the fuq.

I don't understand what's the reason behind this change. AP ratio, w/e, but nerfing stack generation by spell casts?

U wot m8? Is it "fine" or "heavy-handed"? Make up your mind, dude!

Luden's Echo is maybe most powerful item by itself, yes. Except every champion has 6 item slots. Luden's great as a rush item, it's strength dimishes with each item already in the inventory.

By design it's suppose to be a complementary option for poke mages, which in 90% of cases aren't really mobile champions. Nerfing it by decreasing stack generation from spell casts and not by movement generation is, in my opinion, the worst way to nerf it, knowing it's mobile assassins that use this item the most.
