My friend asked me if his Rune Pages were fine.

fyi his garen page is full hp regen
fyi his garen page is full hp regen
this is either really smart, or incredibly stupid. probably stupid. to how much does it add up?
does he realize that different types of runes are more or less effective on certain stats (yellow = defense, red = offense, blue = abilities)?
No, they are definitely NOT fine.
They all need 1% crit chance.
You know, now that I think about it, Crit Damage runes could actually be really good on people with guaranteed crits.
Yasuo mains incoming.......
No, they're awful on Yasuo.
Building IE on Yasuo fixes that so taking crit damage runes will just be a waste when you can get 29%+ attack speed from runes.
You can have 41.4% attack speed from runes. Haven't you learned anything from this thread?
actually yasuo's passive reduces total crit damage is reduced by 10%. The damage reduction applies to the total damage dealt (before damage mitigation). A standard Critical strike is 200% damage is reduced to 180%, and a critical strike with Infinity Edge deals 225% damage instead of 250%. So if you are running those crit runes with Infinity Edge the total without reduction is 296% with reduction you are looking at 266% crit strike which means more then half of those runes are gone to waste.
which means more then half of those runes are gone to waste.
Normally you gain 46% increased crit damage going from 250% (with IE) ---> 296% (296-250=46) However on Yasuo you only go from 225% (with IE) ----> 266% (266-225=41)
I hardly think going from 46% increase to... 41% increase... is making more then half of those runes go to waste...
with yasuo on these crit runes look at it this way. 296% without reduction, then with redution it becomes 266% which is 30% down when you are given 46% you effectively only gained 16% crit damage which isn't even half of what you put in on those runes. So yes they are going to waste because of how much his passive has taken from them. [slayer-jinx-wink]
Normal crit ---> Yasuo Crit Base 200% --> 180% (-20%) IE 50% ---> 45% (-5%) Crit runes 46% ---> 41% (-5%) Total 296% ---> 266% (-30%)
Now why... would you put all of the -30% on the crit runes? When most of the reduction happens on the base crit damage?

Hes been playing like this for 2 years.
but how has he done?
You should add this to the first post, just because its interesting for various reasons lol

Check out his kassadin page lol.

But Riot is planning on removing crit chances runes o.o
But Riot is planning on removing crit chances runes o.o
It's crit damage, not crit chance.
This person can be the worst on the planet but I still don't wanna play against their Gangplank. They'll somehow find a way to get through laning phase and the barrels will do 2k damage.
Shit, he's higher than me. I'm sad now.
Play more. Theres a lot of gold level players in silver that just haven't played enough for their rank to be accurately reflected. You could be one.
im dying at the fact that he has two different-named rune pages that are exactly the same...how has he not realized this.
Well, at least your friend commits to something on his pages. I know some people with like 8-9 different runes on the same page and they refuse to listen to why it's not good.

And why is it not good? Because pros don't do it?
I lke to mix different types of runes sometimes so I won't get beat by an enemy just because he has the perfect runes to beat me in that particular situation. My reasonning is I can afford to have runes that are a little less eficient but more versatile because I'm most likely better than my oponent and a small difference in runes stats won't help him enough.
But If I go all in one way with my runes and he goes all in the other way, then the runes can make a noticeable difference.
Maybe that was a poor way to word it. A variety can be fine if it has logic behind it, the people I'm talking about have an assortment that just make no sense together. If your variety works for you then by all means play it, whatever makes you most comfortable ends up being best.
When it comes to stat allocation MinMaxing > balanced stats. It's better to just highlight your champion's strengths unless you can actually set up matchup specific rune pages.
With certain champs and runes it may be better to go mixed runes. On kha'zix for example CDR blues are good but going 9 of them ends up wasting some cdr in many builds so you go 6 cdr and 3 MR or scaling MR

That's an entirely different thing though, and that's only an issue because CDR is capped.
If CDR was NOT capped, then you would take 9 CDR runes.
This also applies to attack speed. If, somehow, some new meta build put Master Yi over the attack speed cap, then he would change some of his reds/quints to AD. In all other cases, attack speed reds/quints are 100% superior.
What's the attack speed cap

Oh my god, this like Kat's Highest Winrate full magic pen rune page all over again.
Oh my god, this like Kat's Highest Winrate full magic pen rune page all over again.
its full magic pen and hp/lvl seals it's probably still the best rune page.
champion.gg does not list it as such right now. I do remember that I once saw full attack speed runes Master Yi as his highest winrate there.

That's because it states highest win rate % with a low amount of games(~100 only) . Look at the kat reddit or some probuilds, they still use full magic pen with hp/lvl
Hey that stuff gives her 5-10% extra damage against people who aren't stacking MR. It does maximise her damage, but it involves giving up your MR blues on a melee midlaner who already has a really weak laning phase.
I don't see the problem; they all look legit to me. : ^)
Am I the only one who thinks the full magic resist page might be cool on Galio? Not that I would do it.
I... shall try these.
That's amazing. Truly amazing.
Why does he have the same page twice but with a different name?
Also, that gangplank page looks like a great yasuo troll page.

If yas takes crit chance instead, he hits 100 percent crit chance with zeal XD
But... two of the pages are exactly the same....
These pages aren't real.
They look pretty real http://na.op.gg/summoner/userName=AppleTwinkle
I was trying to convince myself that they weren't real.
But, other than that, I just glossed over them and he has some pretty standard page setups, albeit, some questionable runes on some of them.
But, mostly, I think this guy is confused.
Hmmmm.
GP should be running GP10 runes along with crit damage, but otherwise, this is a completely perfect setup.
Looks good, I'm surprised your friend isn't Challenjour yet.

Freaking 85 AP at level 1?
Holy crap I would not want to play against that. He essentially has
+5 AP from runes alone.
