Urgot rework a success or not???

Being someone who considers himself an Urgot main and obtaining a mastery 7 on him, I feel that the new Urgot is not what I imagined it to be relative to the old Urgot; it makes me sad to say the least. I think the Urgot rework is quality material and a job well done, but in the wrong direction. He was never intended to be a top laner, or jungler. He is supposed to be an ADC. The old Urgot was unique in that he was a caster ADC much like Ezreal: lots of damage from abilities. Urgot was the ADC who could 1v1 and delete any other ADC in the game. His ult just did not translate well into team fights and his mechanics were much different than the other ADC's making him a champion you had to spend extra time and effort to learn. What I want to say is that I enjoy the rework, but I am sour over the fact that they completely changed EVERYTHING. Why couldn't he still be an artillery style, caster ADC(much like an AD xerath) I don't like or agree with RIOT catering him into a top lane meta.

old urgot could go anywhere, except support really, but he evolved into a top laner or a counterpick mid, his adc hasnt been a thing for a good while

Actually, Riot said that Urgot is a juggernaut, but i don t see Urgot do a 1v3 or 1v2 as Darius or Illaoi. Urgot has difficulties to beat just one champion with his new kit because he clearly does not do enough damage. The Old Urgot could kill more easier a champion and taking less damage due to his damage reduction than the actual one. Also, the new Urgot is simple to counter : Just stay in the knee used to take less damage. Additionnaly, the new ult of Urgot is actually less useful than the old one as a tank, the old one could make you enter in a fight with damage reduction and fear ennemies, the new one is only useful to kill 1 enemy with LESS than 25 % of his health if you don't miss it...

Last thing, his new Q needs CHARGE or more damage, the old Q of Urgot had a cd of 2 SECONDS, 85 % AD ratio, comparatively to the new Q that a cd of 12-8 seconds and it has a AD ratio of 70 % and it is harder to hit someone with it.

See and I have been playing him Support

Still he has a 40% win rate top and 33% jungle so ya something is needing buffed.

Tho we will see how things pan out in a week but usually its the other way around so.

I love it, still being able to retaliate regardless of fleeing or chasing is what I played urgot for. But due to how broken his Q originally was and how it got gutted in the past he lost favor until the little buffs he recently gotten.

I'm glad for the way he currently is. Also he was introduced as a ranged bruiser like vlad not an adc. It was because of how broken his Q was he was played as an adc.

Artilery is done much better by koggles/caitlyn who introduce the same mechanic much better. But urgot's entire focus was retaliation no matter the tide of a fight.

I see the rework as a fail for me. Maybe I am not use to playing him differently than before as Riot made him specifically a top laner in this rework. I miss dealing high damage with q and e especially when you had a 45% cooldown. He was a ranged tank but now he's just an ordinary tank to me, you gotta be close to dish out damage now. I feel less love for Urgot now but I'm trying to work with it for now. His win rate dropped after the rework, expected, but when will it go back up?

I personally never played Urgot in my 6 years of the game because I felt that his kit was too restricted. But, I'm already near mastery lvl 3 with him. I, personally, have been having a lot of fun and I think his kit fairly useful now.

In the last week, the NA server saw fewer than 1000 games played on Urgot. I imagine that in another week we'll see that number jump to close to 5,000 plays a week, if true then yes I would label it a success.

I mean, Quinn was supposed to be an ADC, Graves was too. Things move around as the game evolves. I don't see why you still couldn't take him bot. A tank support would help him with his leg shot passive. (side note: anyone know how Braum's concussive blows interacts with it? Do it count as two or just one?)
