I beg you a pardon. Support used to be support of team, not support of adc. And I have won several games by leaving adc behind. It is sad fact there is adcs who cannot play with supports. They play better when forced to play careful due 1 vs 2.

But as usual, it is support who is to be blamed for trollign unless he does exactly what rest of team tells him to do. Support is seen as serf by community. He is not member of team. He is not equal. He is nothing. And people wonder WHY there isn't many supports in this game.

Staying in lane is not a must, if the adc is not doing so well, roaming maybe a way out, support is support, they are not there solely for the adc but for the team as whole.

Non meta stuff should be supported, after all its a game, players should have the freedom to test new stuff and explore, what this guy does is quite inspiring, but to be fair, doing something new and getting banned for it or doing something new in a 5 players game and not getting blessing from your team mate is different, and yes he post a paragraph to explain what he is gonna do before each game doesn't mean all his team mate agrees with him.

Ritto should and in my understanding do support people exploring the game and new stuff, and in this case I think it really comes down to the dialogues between Adellaideskyhart and his team mates, ban would be fair if he fails to communicate (communication don't just mean dropping a paragraph at the beginning of each game, but to reach full understanding with all members of the team , and for them to agree to his plans also) and comes to term with team mates about his arrangements, and an apologies is due if otherwise. Which ever way it goes this has caught many players attention, it would only be fair if riot gives this guy a fair judgement in full transparency.

I don't think chat is that important. Mostly anything that is really important can be said in pings, and i assume he does a lot of pinging when he puts pressure and such, i think the chat is just there for convenience, espec now with the new pings so now you can just ping for flash times and when dragon is up, etc. Or if you say "Lag" you can just ping your ms. Idk man i love this guy, plays something off meta and it works. He supports his team so he is fulfilling that "support" role is he not. The sightstone thing i get but warding should be a team thing not just 1 person running around for wards so an extra 2 wards is important, but i don't think it is bankable. My 2 cents though
