I rarely see other players get it. I nearly always pick it up after my boots, SS, upgraded gold item and aegis.
The passive effect isn't too great but the active seems so desirable. However it does have a nasty long CD. I don't recall seeing this item in LCS.
Also I couldn't find this anywhere but how does this item counter Zed? I had a player telling me it counters Zed.

Roar of Legend1 votesMikale does not remove death mark; however, I have use the heal to save a lot of people, not just from Zed. I personally also buy it as well, not because I like it, but because it's one of the two items that chalice can build into, and Mikale is the one that people won't accuse me for "Why are you building AP?"
While the active is useful against Ashe, Nasus, Malzahar and Warwick, the usage is very minimal since the cool down is so long that you don't even feels like it's in the game when you really need it. With the new Unholy Grail having some support mechanic in it, I probably would start using it over Mikale instead. Unless they have some long duration CC, then I might pick up Mikale.
