PSA: No matter what, don't dodge games during you placements

That will absolutely tank your MMR because the system will take the dodge as hidden loss. So if for example you dodge 10 games then win all your your placements, your actual standing won't be that you won 10/10 games (100% winrate), but rather that you won 10/20 games (50% winrate).

The reason I'm writing this is because even though it's well after RIOT confirmed this, people still believe in the urban legend that you are free to dodge placement games because there's no LP system. Just today I had somebody dodge because they were in their placements and the enemy had a Lulu/Kogmaw botlane. DON'T DO THAT. It's the definitely the worse thing you could do to your MMR. Never, ever, dodge your placement games. It's better to take your chances with a probable loss than getting a bonus loss for absolutely free.

dodge any game that looks like a waste of your time because playing 20 min of a sure-loss sucks.

I accidently dodged one game in my placements, it did absolutely nothing to me.

Dodges don't affect mmr, why should they affect mmr when it is placements?

I dodged 3 times last season and won 7 out of 10. I went from plat 2 and placed plat 4. This season i went 6-4 and dodged 4 times. I went from d5 to p3.

I dont think it counts as a loss.

i dodged 10 ranked games before i even started actually playing placements on a fresh account, won 2/10 and got placed silver 5 when i was expecting bronze.

Do you have a link to the statement by Riot?

Wow no wonder I started Bronze II this season, or wait, it was probably because I went 3-7 and played those shitty ass games I should've dodged in the first place.

i disagree, i dodged all the time when i did my flex placements, i had as little intention of sticking around in that game mode and was only getting to gold 5 with as few games as possible.

went 7/3, placed g4. vowed never to touch the mode again.

but i dodged about 9x soooo.....

either i would have placed like plat 1?????? or i would have taken some guaranteed losses along the way with troll teemo mid, 12% win rate vayne only main.... bronze 3 shaco junglers....

whatever the reason for dodging was, i benefited greatly from it by securing wins.

prove to me that dodging lowers your MMR.

In this case, if you want a low MMR account to smurf in really low elo to crush people, you just have to dodge enough placements and not have to do any "feeding" or intentional loss whatsoever? That's kinda fucked up

Wait a second.

You wanna say if you see yourself forced to dodge 10 games because you expect them to be a loss...

you woud take

0/10 = 0% winrate

over 0/20 - 10/20 = 0% - 50% winrate (you are calling this "bonus losses" and you think they are bad...)

So you would not take that chance to get at least 50% win rate and instead take 10 losses and 0% win rate?

?????

Math anyone?

If it works as you described you can absolutely dodge. Dodging is not without consequences, but obviously still better then playing a game that would be a loss anyway.

Is it just me or did you get 34 upvotes for something that is completely wrong >_> NA please
