PSA: Calling for reports is itself reportable as toxic behavior

Dear Riot...some clarification please.

Right now on the front page alone there are 4 threads in which people asked for reports and don't consider that poor behavior, and I know it's a common thing to do (regardless if the report is deserved or not). So here's a quote from Riot Hursker:

Calling for others to report a player is a punishable offense. It is a form of bullying and as such is against the summoner code. It should always be a personal decision for each player as to whether or not they feel another player warrants a report. In fact, do feel free to tell your team mates that "report calling" in itself counts as harassment. Flaming and bullying a player will never help them to improve their game mechanics, communication etc.

So if you ever feel the need to say stuff like "x9 this guy" or "report X pls", don't. It counts against you more than against them, and it isn't even needed. What matters is the number of games reported, not the amount of reports per game, so 1 report is as good as 9. If you see somebody behaving in a way you feel it should be reported, report them at the end of the match. That's all. If they are indeed in the wrong they'll be dealt with with your report alone. Getting more people to report somebody won't change anything for them, but it might count against you.

I say that every time, but people actually laugh at me for it. I guess ignorance is bliss...untill they get punished for it. Then they are ignorant and mad about the thing they are ignorant of while not aware of it. It becomes borderline impossible to deal with them at that point.

PSA in a PSA:

Don't try to explain why they got punished unless you enjoy toxic players salt. It's rarely succesfull.

You're right about everything except the part where the amount doesn't matter, the amount does actually matter, and a guy will be sooner prosecuted who was reported by 3 or more people than a guy who had 1 report, especially if that happens in several games.

Good. I'm sick off seeing someone say "report X for feeding" on my team or the enemy team every single game. It's pretty obvious when someone actually deserves to be reported, and 99% of the time the person whining about it is just salty because they lost.

except riot has confirmed the existence of hidden report weight, meaning players who "falsely report" will progressively trigger less reviews over time with their reports, and riot has intentionally not said a god damn thing about how report weight is calulated or even what determines a "false report" so for all we know, it's simply based on how often someone reports, and the more you report the less reviews they trigger, and therefore, by asking for reports, you increase the likelyhood of a toxic player being reported by a "weighted" reporter

ASKING FOR REPORTS DOES MATTER

The only time i report or ask for them is when a team member goes AFK for the whole game or they are being complete complete dicks do everyone. Feeding happens to us all, and i don't call for heads to role because of it.

Then how will I get the guy who was committing clearly reportable offense punished? one guy ain't enough.

Dumb as hell system. if 9 people from the same game reported him then he clearly fucked up and did something he shouldnt have. Fuck this system and bring back the Tribunal.

I mean I'm usually the one that points out you cant report someone for just playing badly regardless of the team the guy is on but if some OTP is int feeding in normals because someone picked his champ in blind pick, while going teemo ghost cleanse then i don't see why calling him out on his bs in /all so the other team knows why he went full retard would be bad

Nów if you went about it like 'report this fucking feeder' then i get it but i see no wrong in just going '/all report teemo, he's feeding because X happened in champ select'

It doesn't matter as much as whether or not the guy gets punished as if you get attention for it. A guy is trolling, you need more people to take your side. 4 isn't enough, you need 9 ppl ganging up on the toxic person.

If someone takes the flame to all chat, don't be pretentious and just take a side.

Well ok then, better honour my AFK team mate, and that shyvana that is running down midlane, or the guy that is toxic in team chat but nice in /all...
