Can we please do something about Karthus???

He is still trash, as he has been since he got nerfs a while back. He has no mobility, low MS, and terrible resistances. I get that he has his passive, but that's all it seems like he is there for. Basically, mid-late game, he is just supposed to run in and be a nuisance with it and ult as late as he possibly can. Early game, he is basically just going to die 10000000 times in lane unless you get consistent ganks and aren't pushing. He is just in a seemingly hopeless state right now and has a nearly impossible learning curve for new players.

Every mage ever. His wall is good for securing ganks and escaping them.

I get that he has his passive, but that's all it seems like he is there for.

Goes in the middle of teamfights with his crazy high DPS (One of the highest in the game) and when he dies he casts R so it can't be interupted and boom, all squishies are dead..Also what else would it be there for?? Like..it's a passive it's just there to do something like everyone else's passive.

Basically, mid-late game, he is just supposed to run in and be a nuisance with it and ult as late as he possibly can

He can still kite/poke, he doesn't have to rely on his passive all the time. He becomes a monster late game because of the short cooldown on his Q uses 30% AP which is a decent amount, you can dish out a lot of damage in a couple seconds.

Early game, he is basically just going to die 10000000 times in lane unless you get consistent ganks and aren't pushing.

He has a very strong early game and often gets first blood. He can safety farm from a distance and regain mana with his Q - which is why he has great sustain.

He is just in a seemingly hopeless state right now and has a nearly impossible learning curve for new players.

He isn't for beginners. Other champion learning curves are harder such as

Leblanc Lissandra Syndra Velkoz Xerath Zyra Zed Azir Ahri Draven Diana Kassadin

Hmm lets see why wall doesn't really matter when getting ganked -90% of the jungle champs have a dash oh right and if you do somehow escape a jungle gank u are set back 100 mana!!!! from using a shitty slow

So what should we do about all the other immobile mid lane champions?? Also, at first rank defile gives back 20 mana when killing a unit. Killing 5 minutes will give you back 100 mana.

Anivia Annie Brand Cassiopeia Heimerdinger Malzahar Orianna Morgana Veigar Velkoz Varus Taliyah Syndra Swain Ziggs Zyra Xerath Viktor

Let's buff them all??? How about ward then, and not just those 2 free wards, I mean buying vision wards. (What every decent mid laner does.) And not just warding those 2 bushes on the river.

Set back 100 mana from using a slow? That's pretty much all mid laners also. That's why you have like 500 mana or so and karthus regains mana by using his Q. He isn't an aggressive midlaner, he just farms like:

Vladimir Veigar Velkoz Ryze Heimerdinger Fiddlesticks

90% of jungle champs have a dash? I often land a slow and it does help. You see, after they do their jump/dash they are still slowed for the rest of the time the slow is. Don't forget that Karthus isn't a natural at pushing lanes. Most of them (even professional karthus mains) often farm near their turret, being safe and denying the enemy cs. If you're behind the halfway mark then you shouldn't get ganked, chance is even less if you ward or freeze your lane right in front of the turret.

So you're one of the "take a small example and apply it to the whole group" kinds arent ya?

Karthus has a terribly slow MS at 335. Just because he gets mana back doesnt help that he cant escape from ganks. Karthus, if anyone, needs it with his low mana pool (of base 1409) and a low HP value of 1791. He has higher mana costs and lower mana pools than most other carries. If there is one with higher, then tell me that it isn't their only source of farming. His slow, the only thing you say he can use to escape ganks, slows for 40% at rank 1. If you max that first (for the 80% slow), you're playing karthus wrong.

Karthus at the moment is hopelessly outclassed. Even Lee Sin has higher base MS at 350 than Karthus. That to me seems pretty ridiculous.

Go look up some professional karthus players.

I looked up karthus players in op.gg and it showed the top 50 karthus players. Only 3 are master. 2 are diamond 1. 8 are diamond 2. And the rest are low diamond.

And you cant use the statement that "if pro players can play well with him, then he is in a good spot" because pro players could do well with any champion they choose. That doesn't mean they are balanced and have a good learning curve.

There's nothing wrong with him though, riot's balancing systen is "if pro players can play well with him, then he is in a good spot." it's in pro play.

Actually, their balancing decisions are based on the "easy to learn, hard to master" which is incredibly hard with how weak Karthus is early and mid game.

Not weak, he often gets first blood.

Where are you getting this from???

If a Karthus gets first blood, then the other player is terrible. If anything, Karthus gets second blood because of his passive and nothing else.

Most mains usually get it? He has a very strong early game because of his low cooldowns and safety, you just don't like the champion because you don't know his strengths. He shares the same weaknesses as every mage, squishy, low mobility, plus his own since he's a whole different champion. Late game, he just shreds through tanks because of void staff + his wall gives further magic penetration along with the cooldown of his Q which is 1 second along with his E. Most games don't last that long though, that's why late game champions such as Azir and in this case Karthus have a low winrate. Zyra and Anivia are also slow and immobile and they're really strong. He's very capable of carrying a game. He has no defense against anyone? He has his wall and a turret. He's like Vayne, he just needs to survive the laning phase so he can go around and kill everyone mid to late game. If you don't like it, then that's fine but you don't have to say bad things about him. A lot of people say champions are horrible but they've never seen a good one like Kayle or Urgot.

If they made Karthus's wall apply the grounded effect for the slow duration, he would be not shit again.

I just miss furor. i loved being able to kite with the Q so hard.

Biggest problem honestly is the bullshit amount of things that can just ruin his ulti. After Soraka, Trynd, Kayle, Fizz and Vlad from old days, we now have Fiora, Bard, Tahm, Taric, Kindred and many more. Just make it so that it hits the target no matter what, except maybe zhonyas, and there you go, Karthus is viable again...

doiminat0r36001 votes

Honestly, I have no problem with his his ult being canceled. You should be punished for poor positioning when ulting.

All you have to do is wait for yourself to die (a very easy feat) and then press the button. You will do fine and not get interrupted.

And the ability to dodge his ult shouldn't be a thing. But since rito decides there needs to be more overloaded champs and kits, Karthus is just going further down into the hole he came from.

DoktorKaiser1 votes

I never mentioned canceling his ulti, ofc that if you stand like an idiot in the middle of the lane ulting you should get punished. I am talking about the amount of shit that can dodge his ulti with 1 ability, or even worse that can make whole team survive it such as Bard, Kindred, Karma, Soraka or Taric. But lowering the CD on ulti will just make him spam it if fed and 1 shot squishies, but then again if whole team survives the longest CD ulti in the game (thus it should be the most powerfull, which in theory it is) then the champion will never be decent to play. Not to mention his crap early game and getting rekt by anything that can dash, again pretty much every goddamn champ now.

doiminat0r36001 votes

You mentioned that there are a lot of things that can "ruin" his ulti. That includes getting CCd so it cancels and you get the whole CD.

i think hes pretty good right now tbh

Personally, I'd agree. But in fairness, I'd also say that he's hit or miss. When it comes to Mids, there are far more reliable picks than him.

That being said.

LONG LIVE SKELETOR!
