Support items: but not fqc

Something just occurred to me, how the support items are so similarly made, which leaves talisman the least used compared to face and frost. Correct me if im wrong, but frost queen's is designed for ap supports, fotm is for tanks, and talisman is for uhh... Roaming? Talisman's role is far from clear, and is really only bought on a small number of supports. But why?

Items: looking at passive and actives only, not the raw stats.

Frost queens claim: gold per 10, gold when hitting enemy champs or turrets, and spooky ghosts

Fotm: execute on minions, and shield

Talisman: gold +hp when enemy minions die near you, move speed bonus.

Looking at this, fqc has so much more than talisman. So why not up talisman's uniquely designed role?

Proposal: passive only Passive: store 5 gold and 5 experience whenever an enemy minion dies near you, redeemed at the shop this means you cannot level up from the bonus xp without going b Active: same active

What's the consensus? This encourages talisman's passive nature, and keeps it in bot lane.

Talisman is for passive/defensive play, FQC is for aggressive poke supports, and FotM is for tank supports.

Talisman was actually the upgraded item that people went for the most prior to the 5.22 changes, because its active was the best at engaging/disengaging (old FQC active was pretty tacky), but since you can also do that with the frosty ghosts now, the lack of combat stats in Talisman's line of items makes it a less favored choice.

The thing is, due to Talisman's passive nature, it pretty much has to be the least rewarding income item, because it is the only one that requires you to do nothing and take 0 risk for your gold. If the least effort, least risk taken option was also the most rewarding, you'd see people go for Coin on every support, and because Coin line does not support aggression, bot lane would be very passive.

Even now it is the most reliable gold item, it will give you roughly the same amount of gold every game, but if you get shafted in lane you might not be able to make much out of the two others.

This is very true, but it just feels underwhelming

It feels underwhelming because it's passive power. It's gold gained by standing there (rather than harassing people, taking potshots at structures, or executing creeps). Even the stats provided are all regen (bar the CDR common to all three lines), which is harder to see and appreciate than the HP from Relic line or the AP from FQC.

The active is still very powerful, and situationally better than FQC (there, I said it). If you have a "LET'S RUSH THOSE MOFOS" comp, Tali is better.

I remember when everyone picked talisman. The active is amazing for teamfights, but it depends on your team. It works well with juggernauts.
