Supporting mismatching

I would really like to know how riot is pairing players. I'm a support main with I think 3 or 4 champs in supporting over 200k. I get paired against supports who are of equal skill to me. Control vision, tracking junglers, zoning, prepping waves at towers, summoner timers being called ect… Went back to playing adc like I did a few seasons ago and seeing complete lopsided matchups. Regardless of counter picks it seems one side has proper macro play. Cannon low? Let's move forward on zone the opposing adc off it. Supports I'm seeing just cast abilities on minion waves regardless of if wave needs to be frozen and/or reset. Is there a page or forum where riot has shown how they matchmake so I can try to understand what's going on better?

If advise is giving please be of higher elo than myself as maybe I have missed something.

Diamond support main here. I went ahead and looked you up. op.gg says you're currently Gold 2. I have a smurf account that's getting consistently matched with players around high gold/low plat.

Biggest things I notice out of bot lanes (both ADCs and supports) in this elo: -Don't fight for/respect level 2 advantage -Don't fight around ability cooldowns -Don't know how to manage waves (mostly ADC not pushing/not pushing at correct times) -Don't know champion matchups and at which point they win/lose lanes -Only sometimes punish players for stepping too far up

I've had to hard carry so many Gold2 - Platinum 4 ADC mains through the early game because they just have zero idea how laning phase works. This of course is all mostly just lane stuff and post-laning-phase is it's own beast entirely but working on these things is a big start to improving.
