Kalista's hop now only works on every 3rd auto-attack

TheHobbits··3 votes·1,909 views

How broken is she now? Less? I would hope so.

How is anyone meant to compete with her mobility? Once she has built some attack speed she snowballs out of control and hops around like a frog that absorbed a gallon of coffee through its skin.

So here are some options on how to make it more balanced:

  • She can only hop on every 3rd auto-attack

  • Kalista's passive goes on cooldown after the first hop for 5 seconds, however, auto-attacks reduce its cooldown by 1 second

  • Kalista's passive gains charges over time and stores 10 at a time. You gain charges every 5 seconds.

Take your pick. Please give me some feedback other than "Don't ruin my champion!"

EDIT:

Okay. I obviously need to put up a disclaimer or something. I'm not saying she is too strong in damage. She is squishy as hell late game too. Two good hits on her and she in gone. Its the fact that no one can even come close to hitting her with anything in a team fight or anywhere once she has build some attack speed.

This is a matter of balancing the number of times she can hop in a short burst. NOT about her overall damage and or other factors. She is balanced in all the other aspects. ONLY her passive hop at high attack speeds.

No "Keep it the same" option?

TheHobbits1 votes

If I wanted it the same I wouldn't have made a thread at all.

shrug It's just good polling practice, ensure that anyone who does the poll has at least one option to choose from.

If Kalista needs a nerf, it should be on her other skills. Her passive defines her, and all your options destroy that part of her.

The only thing I don't like about kalista is the rather large amount of damage she gets on her E. Not so much for champions, even though at higher AS she can keep up really easy, but on objectives like dragon and baron where she can deal massive damage to them very quickly. I really think overall Rend (E) is just to strong atm, but the main thing I think is there needs to be a cap to the number of stacks that can get applied or a damage ceiling.

Other than that I really don't have much of a problem with her. The other parts of her kit seem perfectly fine to me atm.

I agree that her E probably should have a cap. It's hands-down the best objective securer the game has ever seen. Her ultimate might also need a nerf (range / cooldown / knock-up time). It seems to be better than Malphite's ultimate right now.

The only argument I have against increasing her ULt is that I see it mainly used defensively. Now this may just be an anomaly, but rarely is it used offensively from my experience. But that is a place to look at it

Not having a "keep the same" option really shows the incompetence of the thread. Looking at these results, you would think everyone wants to change it. Not the case. Your opinion doesn't matter.

Shes not broken to begin with. Shes actually very weak - its just people dont understand how to play against her. the ONLY nerf that she needs is for the T2 boot scaling to be removed.

Its just the T2 boot scaling that pushes her over the edge. Otherwise shed be an immobile ADC.

Your post started out great and then went backwards lol. Said she's weak and then concluded with her needing a nerf.

EDIT: No offense is implied btw.

First option kills her. In order to hop she has to stand still and auto attack 3 times for a hop. Not having a passive AT ALL would be preferable to number one, because at least then you could stutter step.

Second option gates her into having to build a ton of AS in order to again, not have a terrible passive.

Third option is the only one that doesn't make her unplayable, but this creates an absurd high-low power level for her at every point in the game, or rather, medium-low because again, the second part of her passive which forces her to finish her auto attacks is the balancing factor to her hops.

If Kalista needs nerfing, which imo, she doesn't, it doesn't need to involve killing her niche.

To add onto, you say that her only problem is "ONLY her passive hop at high attack speeds.". All three of your options hurts her at low attack speeds even moreso than her at high attack speeds.

Lastly, seriously, in polls like these you need a "No change" option, it's a biased poll as is.

as far as i agree with you that op's pool sucks ballz i cant agree that her hops are fine which i deduced from you defending them as her niche infinite hops are too toxic for the game since they strictly interact with enemy mechanics meaning that you cant outplay her but you can outpick her -anything skillshot based i rekt by kalista, and has no way of defying that -anything that cant burst her down once it closes the gap, or cant close the gap over and over gets rekt and enemy has no way of defying that -anything that is based around point and click abilities and actualy competes with kalista in sheer movement speed, wrecks kalista and she cant say anything about it

those are big problems because all you can do to defeat a kalista is to countepick her, thats how her passive wrecks her powerbudget

I'm fine with her hoping all over the place, the nurf should be: Allie has option not to become personal bitch for remainder of match when she uses that gay item to stun you.

Somewhere between Second or 3rd choice would be great, the first one scales too well if she is like Yi with no cc or reliable escape whatsoever I would have say it's fine but she has passive dash, scout tools, burst and cc so yer I am not too keen on the first idea.

Not sure about which way to go though, second one or the third one. Third one would pretty much make her Ashe with shorter range, like literally but second one would make her a Better Ashe.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....

She isn't even that strong. People overhyped her being op right before she came out because, "mobility", and then stopped talking about her after the first week once they found out that her early game blows. Like seriously blows. And if she doesn't have a moderately successful early game which is extremely dependent on how good her support is and hoe bad her opponents are then she is just too far behind to make a difference. And when your adc doesn't do enough to make a difference then your whole team is screwed. If she's snowballing mid-late game then it's your fault for not capitalizing on her horrible early game or else her support is just too godly.

EDIT: And no, I do not main or play Kallista. Played her a little bit when she first came out and then dropped her.

Omen and frozen heart reduces her attack speed which reduces her hopping amount.

If anything maybe slow effects reducing her hopping distance.

she wouldnt be broken, she would get rekt kalista has less power overall compared to other adc's but her infinite hop allows her to do more than other adc's remove the hop and you remove the entire champion

Honestly I feel like she is perfect the way she is. Obviously she will get some nerfs to her E more than likely, but her passive is fine. That's who she is. I would understand if any random person could pick up Kalista and start owning but she does take some skill to really play effectively. Most Kalista players are pretty mediocre adc's so you shouldn't have a problem facing them.

"She is good at something. NERF" "Why are so few champions viable?"

MPendragon1 votes

Kalista can only be picked first or second, and then becomes unselectable afterwards.

Then you can get TwistedFate to ensure those Gold Cards.
