Something has to be done about Mage's ability to take turrets

I know a lot of people here circle jerked for stronger turrets, and I admit I understood why and even agreed for the most part. The issue though is that turrets were straight up overbuffed, and they feel overbearingly difficult to solo take as any mage that's not stacking attack speed(looking at you Azir), or Ziggs.

Turrets are taken far too quickly in bot lane and top lane due to the presence of AD and demolish but are taken far too slowly in mid without a rotating bot lane or help from a jungler. A lot of mages also happen to be immobile on top of it, as well as being extremely squishy, making damaging turrets even riskier for them to begin with. Why are mages put at such a disadvantage compared to other classes of champions when it comes to taking turrets? I feel like I might as well be a caster minion.

Because mages typically pack heavy wave clear, something AD doesn’t have as much of. There are exceptions to the rule of course, but there’s AP exceptions as well to the turret taking. AD tends to push waves slower but deal more test damage, AP tends to clear harder but hit turrets less hard. It encourages a synergy past the landing phase where AP is meant to clear the wave from a safe range and melee is meant rocket wail on the turret.

Plus mages already get tower assistance. They deal a portion of their AP as damage per auto. It just so happens they don’t build attack speed. So naturally their autos don’t do as much to towers as someone building AD does, which if you read back to yourself, does make sense, no?

Mages deal bonus damage to towers based on how much AP they have though

mages can take turrets fine.. everyone else just takes them too fast.

besides basic attack damage vs turrets is based on ap if your ap is higher than your ad

Why do Mages need to be able to take turrets quickly in the first place? You're putting the cart before the horse here.

Isn't their inability to shred towers a good thing? It allows midlaners to roam and effect the map without losing Turret before they can high 5 scuttle. The thing where most of their fun and viability comes from?

item 2139 Build this, proceed to shred towers.

Ziggs is trash right now and is badly in need of buffs.

No. This is a good thing. Unlike ADCs, mages actually have weaknesses.

They completely unessicarily made mages do much more damage to towers. Taking towers is not a mages job yet they do so much damage to it scaling with their ap.Turrents already have no hp and hardly last any kind of time

i want turrets to be harder to be taken down not have yet another class that can just sneeze at them and watch them blow up

A) turrets only do physical damage. That means that nearly all of the game apart from Mage champions and Baron (with a few items), do magic damage. This means there already a lot of physical damage going into the game.... especially since AD champions are a big majority of the game. Ill admit i do not have actual numbers but it sure seems to be roughly 2/3rd of the game is physical champions. So there is a push for champions to get armor. This means Mages can do quite a bit more damage to champions (normally) than physical depending on team comps. This is the trade off for a bit less tower taking potential.

B) mages can take out the towers just fine, especially the more auto based ones like Azir, Ziggs, Akali... all of those that can utilize Lich bane.... they just do not do attack speed. You will do plenty of damage no worries.
