The ADC role

Omitting the problems in bot lane, the ADC role seems to be dead nowadays. I remember watching a youtube video from some league player a long time ago stating the basics of ADCs, orbwalking and last hitting and stuff, there was one point though that touched on what we all love about league, the plays, he said that ADC players tend to be pretty conservative when making plays and that as an ADC it was your duty to indeed push and pull your team area of influence, as an ADC you needed to be making plays in order to stay relevant, fish an enemy with your presence or dance around the enemy team dealing as much damage as you could

This is no longer possible, an ADC isn't a playmaker anymore, the days of pulling attention towards you are gone, if you dare stand anywhere near the frontline you're done, be it at the beginning of a fight or at the end, your place is on the back no matter what. Range is probably the best way of defense in the game and as such it is expected that you make use of it to it's full potential but what are you supposed to do when people can close the gap incredibly fast? orbwalk? pff, all you can do is pray that your support decides to support YOU and not the front liner which is pretty stupid too since the front liner indeed needs it more -.-

I come from a game where I barely even saw miss fortune outside of laning phase, she did NOTHING all game long, you could always see her dancing in the back or running back from our olaf, periodically ulting and doing little damage because of bad aiming of the cone and then there was me, Sivir who baited the support veigar into wasting his stun on me and orbwalked like crazy against a Renekton and who did almost as much damage as our mid malzahar and more damage than the Miss fortune. I lost that game because I positioned poorly ONCE... all it took was Renekton going nuts for me and my team going ham for MF who was protected perfectly and got a triple.

Yes, she played statistically better (mind you sivir doing more damage than a MF.........) and she probably won the game for her team but... where is the fun in playing demure fighting????????????? I personally love outplaying my enemies with mechanics, dodging skillshots and using clutch spells, I love teamfighting with my team and making my enemies fear ME, I AM THE ADC after all but that doesn't matter anymore, as long as you sit down in the back and do nothing unless it's convenient, you're good!
