I strongly disagree.
you are supposed to have fun when you win and also you are supposed to have fun when you lose. The way you are describing it, one of those scenarios is impossible because your opponent is sucking out all the fun you get from playing your champion through the mechanism of "winning".
Let's separate power from fun for a moment and explore not why trynd is strong or not, but why he is un-fun to many players (in fact, i don't play top lane because of trynd and the large number of other champions just like him).
I am going to take a lot of liberty with portraying things in a more extreme way than they are in reality here, to make the point clear:
Trynd is playing the split push game, and he takes towers very fast and he is more than reasonably able to just trololol out of ganks.
The problem is mainly the rapidity by which trynd takes towers. This pins his opponent to the top lane and prevents his opponent from "playing the game".
for instance lets say I am playing a team fighting champion like rumble. If I roam to mid, trynd will take a tower. Because of the speed of tower taking and pushing, I have more or less a total of 3 roams and each of those is paid for by a guaranteed tower.
so even though I am playing a team fighter, I really can't team fight. regardless of whether I am ahead or behind, I can't "play my champion", as you have put it.
