Nocturne from bronze/silver to gold guide :)

From what I understand, 75%+ of the player base is under gold, so theoretically I could help many people achieve gold :)

I'm a fairly average player. My mechanics are terrible, but I have good game sense. I finished silver s3, and gold every season since. I'm certainly not anywhere near a top tier player. Nor do I have a huge champion pool, but this season Nocturne has by far been my pocket pick thus far. No skill shots to land, map-wide ultimate, great assassination. Good qualities to have in a jungler. He literally requires 0 mechanics. Hit R twice and mash your buttons. This season I started out 15-45 and was doing horrendously bad, then started playing an "offensive" nocturne build and have been winning 71% of my games since then to get back to gold(from low silver)!

The stats posted on na.op.gg aren't exactly updated or accurate, but if anyone is wondering before reading on, my win % with nocturne this season is 71%(22-9). I'm averaging slightly higher than 4:1 KDA and build full aggressive every game. It's a ridiculously fun build with great utility. As long as teams aren't fighting 5v5 too early he's a fantastic pick.

Masteries: 12/18/0 - thunderlords(intelligence is a must-have too! CDR is huge on nocturne before items) Runes: 9% armor, 4.17% cdr, 29% attack speed, 6.68% cdr at 18

Skill order->Q->E->W->Q->then max R first, then Q, then E

Start with machete+refillable.

First back you ideally want Caulfield's warhammer. If you don't have enough gold for caulfield's, you can also buy skirmishers+boots.

First full item - Red warrior blade(CDR>>>all)+first tier boots

Second full item - Trinity force. Yes, trinity force. Provides good burst, mana sustain, attack speed, and most importantly 20% CDR I usually go sheen->stinger->finish tri force._ At this point, finish boots._ You may have to finish boots before trini force if they have a very fed carry. Most games I go tabi or merc treads.

Third full item - This can vary game to game. Most games my next two items are Phantom Dancer and Death's Dance, in no particular order. You can also go Hexdrinker if they have a fed AP champion.

My usual full build is as follows: Warrior->boots->trinity force->death's dance->PD->anything you want for last item, I rarely make it to 6th item. I'd provide situational items, but honestly I very very rarely deviate from this build. The ability to pick off squishies is invaluable. Last game my midlaner hardcore fed their katarina, and I was still able to ult her and kill her 1v1 if she didn't have ignite up. Not many junglers can do that.

I wish I could provide videos, but basically you want to do BUFF->WOLVES->BUFF every game. Hit level 3 then depending on your health go regen on krugg, or gank/pressure a lane. I used to do full jungle clears, but then realized at this elo you need to have early map presence. Most games I'll attempt a gank/counter-gank on top or mid at level 3, then go back and finish my jungle or clear waves with the laner if the gank results in a back. Hitting level 6 ASAP is very important, but I've found the best way to do that is soaking some early lane experience via ganks or shoving.

Try not to waste time on "extremely mobile/troll champions." If there's a fizz on the other team I'll rarely waste time ganking him unless he just used his E. Same with champions like Zed. You're much better off using your ult on other lanes or their jungler.

You generally want to pick off squishies who are alone. ADCs and supports are usually free kills with Nocturne. Immobile midlaners are free kills. Don't waste ultimates on tanks unless you know it's a 2v1 or 3v1.

Nocture is my favorite jungler this season.
