A letter to ahri mains about circle jerking.

You guys have to decide which side of the spectrum ahri is. Is ahri a hard champ to master? Then dont complain about her "Low winrate" when its at 49%(This is before the biggest buffs ive ever seen given to a champ not struggling). I doubt they would say ahri isnt a hard champ to master at which point they would say ahri is incredibly weak because "I missed charm and couldnt one shot." If you are ever on the ahri subreddit you notice something, its high elo players saying ahri doesnt need these buffs and masses of ahri mains downvoting these smart players. The moderators on the subreddit even started to hate moderating them because of the fact that all the ahri community does is cry and complain (or atleast most of them). It wont matter what ahris winrate is because they dont understand that you trade some damage SOME for mobility and cc. I would like to say that i havent seen much ahri main circle jerking on the boards but that would be a blatant lie. Fortunately other players than ahri mains notice this and stopped even responding to them for the most part or just tell them to stop.....but, it shouldnt be like this. Out of all the communities in the game the ahri mains are in the most self denial about their champion.

TL:DR AHRI DIDNT NEED BUFFS HER COMMUNITY JUST WANTS AHRI TO BE OVERLOADED 49% win rate is good enough for a champion with a 6% play rate. (Her winrate is around 51% below diamond btw)

I agree I saw the post of the mod on the ahri subreddit and the mod said "I'm honesty done moderating at this point. The owner is on the bitching's side and refuses that I try doing ANYTHING to contain or redirect the complaining.

The sub's state is honestly pathetic and the owner just wants it to be a "Ahri is bad buff or revert pls" echo box."

a 49% winrate with a 6 percent pickrate is average,

You mean 6% pick rate?

I really don't get why people say she is bad though. i picked her back up after a while and did extremely well even though i havent played her in several months. I think she is in a very solid state.

Let's put it this way. You are complaining about the Ahri mains complaining. The problem is that even high elo players that aren't Ahri mains admitted she needed buffs and her current kit isn't healthy. Removing the Q MS boost and giving her more damage and making it cheaper IMO was the right choice. She isn't nearly as safe now, but she can be rewarded much more for good play on her most important ability.

But at the same time ahri players admit to ahri being fine and its how you PLAY her that matters.......

You are wrong tho , I don't know what's with this Ahri hate first of all , Ahri isn't hard to master does Ahri need buffs ?no , she is half assassin and half mage , but mostly a mage ,yet she can't be successful in both because of her kit and those 3 dashes Is Ahri good to play ? also no , but not only her , most of mages generally but what needs to be done ? the damage in the game overall must be nerfed , Ahri is a champion that used to do well in lane against immobile mages , but those ones aren't being picked , because the meta doesn't allow that , I honestly hate being forced to take Electrocute for some cheap free damage , anyway so generally Ahri situation is the same as most of mages , and Ahri MUST NOT be buffed , her damage shouldn't be buffed at all , I don't want her to be overloaded because I want to play her , while I feel your pain for being a Yasuo main , a champion that is kind of pick or ban so you can't always play him whenever you want , that doesn't all Ahri mains are like that , who cares about reddit , come to Ahri mains discord and see how cheerful we are about her..

I'm honestly upset over how this revert went because while it brought back more of a skill-based playstyle with the Charm amp returning, they were so desperate to include a movement speed buff that she practically doesn't have a passive anymore. All I want is for them to get rid of the MS buff, move the heal off of her Q and back into the passive slot with the old version, and see where she's at afterwards. If she's struggling, (and slightly under 50% WR doesn't mean struggling people...) then I'm in favor of a slight damage increase on her W for a slightly higher cooldown on her ult.

But that's only if she's legitimately struggling. I can say she does feel a lot better to play now despite gripes about the passive.

Corki is a very mechanically intensive champion and has a high skill ceiling, but he needs to have the highest win rate possible. [slayer-jinx-wink]

umm ahri is fine.. , i havent seen any posts complaining about her, not being OP and not being weak

her winrate is in a very good range, and she has counterplay... i havent seen ANY threads on these boards complaining about Ahri

if u are mad at reddit users... then talk on reddit... this isnt reddit.

if ne1 here has a issue with ahri... they are crazy...

in a meta where almost nothing in balanced..Ahri seems to be

Points I'm going to make are kinda disjointed but bear with me.

I'm a high elo Ahri main (peaked Master on main this season). Ahri definitely felt pretty underwhelming and could've done with some buffs. Not only was she okay but the meta didn't favor her. Bruisers, tanky mages, and assassins everywhere? No thank you.

That being said, were the buffs too strong? Probably. I wouldn't have added the -15 mana as it allows her to fish more AND her Charms are significantly more powerful.

Where does Ahri belong in terms of difficulty? Ahri's always been a pretty easy champion to pick up due to her safety and ability to get carried while also being and a hard champion to master because she does less damage and has a higher CD on her ult than most assassins and much less AoE damage than mages while needing to get much closer to dish it out. A normal pick/winrate for her is around 8% with a 51% winrate. Especially because she's a solo queue-geared champion. She usually needs to be up to like a 53% winrate or something silly like that before pro players even try to play her (not that I'm saying she needs to be at 53%, I'm just pointing out she's not a particularly preferable pick for competitive play).

Lastly, let's talk about the r/Ahrimains circlejerk and how it ties in with boards. Is the circlejerk big and biased? Sure. But that's almost exclusively on the subreddit, which is a cesspool. But in that sense, it's also like Gameplay, which is also a cesspool. They want to see their specific changes happen to the champ the way they think the changes should happen, and most of them just want her W to be a good ability, even if it gets changed to something more difficult to use because right now it's holding her kit back. Same with Gameplay. Same with when Yamikaze came here to say, "Yo these Talon nerfs literally don't change anything." The only difference is r/Ahrimains is mostly low elos so they know next to nothing about what Ahri actually needs to contribute to games.

So what does this have to do with boards? Absolutely nothing. Posting this on the boards and expecting most r/Ahrimains users to see it or respond is silly, and it sounds more like you're trying to start your own circlejerk and bandwagon anti-Ahri players, which has always been a popular thing with boards.

Maybe this is just because I'm gold, but I thought she needed some help mana-wise or with her base MS. Roams are slow af, and the mobility in the meta right now makes it pretty hard to land anything on the enemy mid.

But yeah, I remember when they gave Elise the same buff to cocoon and it brought her up by like 8% (along with a few other small buffs).

Okay to clarify, if you compare Ahri's laning playstyle to someone like Syndra or Ziggs, who have spammy kits and no issue poking, then yes she has mana issues.

If you compare her more to Ekko, then it makes sense why she doesn't have mana problems. Ahri isn't a lane bully. Like Ekko, she just shoves lane with little interactivity because 2 rank 2 Qs will take out casters. On top of that, Ahri can't trade into you in most scenarios unless you walk into her spells and/or you get hit while she's clearing minions.

Her MS is almost never an actual problem to consider.

Ahri's main problems usually stem from not contributing enough to fights in terms of raw output. That raw output can be measured in both damage and utility. She's always had good gank assistance (whether the jungler is coming to her lane or she's ganking another lane), the issue is that in fights if her ultimate is down she's fairly useless and she doesn't have the damage to establish flank priority (if both you and another player on the enemy team flank, if they're a super squishy assassin Ahri can only kill them if she gets the jump on them and if it's a fighter she has to run back to her team for cover).

By buffing her charm duration, you've made her better at gank assists, better in skirmishes and teamfights (because she does more now, with and without her ultimate), and you've artificially inflated her damage because her Q will always hit with the backswing now. It fixed a lot of issues she had with fight contribution.

The only issue I see is that if it's such a powerful spell, it should have some gate on it. Lowering the mana cost multiplies how powerful the duration buff is.

THIS IS EXACTLY, how the Evelynn subreddit is.

Downvoted me to hell for saying she was OP rn.

Honestly, the Evelynn Reddit is the MOST delusional of all the reddits though. No lie.

You have to admit that Eve is pretty miserable to play, regardless of whether she's strong. Especially compared to old Eve, who was more fun in almost every way. Same deal with Kat to a lesser extent, and you see the same deal on her reddit sub.

Oh for sure, next to Skarner, she was my other main.

Now BOTH are ruined and I'm screaming day and night on here for Riot to rever the Skarner rework. The last option I have is to return to the first champ i ever played, Akali, with her new rework.

BUT BOI DO I WISH I COULD PLAY SKARNER AGAIN.
