What is up with the sudden and random Ahri shitposting?

xxxDogmanxxx··11 votes·1,907 views

Why the heck are people complaining about this champ? She's one of the most balanced champions in the game. If you're a good Ahri player, you win. If you're a bad Ahri player, you lose. She is skillshot reliant and her kit has readily available counterplay. She doesn't have any bullshit mechanic that disproportionately powers up her or frustrates other players, nor does she do a disproportionate amount of damage.

So what if she's a good, consistent pick? That's what all champions should be. Instead of aspiring to raise champions up, the boards seem to want to drag champions down. What the hell, guys?

{quoted} If you're a good Ahri player, you win. If you're a bad Ahri player, you lose.

That's not an argument for her as it applies to every champion.

She is skillshot reliant and her kit has readily available counterplay. She doesn't have any bullshit mechanic that disproportionately powers up her or frustrates other players, nor does she do a disproportionate amount of damage.

She is an assassin with decent waveclear, high mobility AND CC. Her only skillshot reliance is on her E, as she gets a free Q hit when the charm hits.

xxxDogmanxxx4 votes

First of all, it is a valid argument because there are some champions that, no matter how good you are as a player, make the game statistically harder to win. Pre-rework Aatrox, current Azir, etc. Ahri is not one of those champions. Her winning is just about as player skill-based as it can get.

Second, her being an assassin with high mobility and decent waveclear does not mean she is OP. Lots of assassins are mobile and have decent waveclear.

As for CC, her only crowd control ability is a single-target skillshot that can't go through minions. Even ignoring the oxymoron in that statement, how is it a valid argument that landing a skillshot based on whether she lands a different skillshot in the first place is NOT called being "skillshot reliant"? That just proves that she IS skillshot reliant, much more so than the average champion.

Lauchmelder2 votes

First of all: Bullshit. Azir being harder to win is thanks to the idiots always surrendering before he hits a decent powerspike. No discussion about that, the first argument you had isn't a valid one.

And an assassin with decent waveclear AND CC is an idiotic design move.

xxxDogmanxxx3 votes

You're trying close off discussion to the argument for Ahri by attributing Azir's bad win rate in ALL elos including Diamond, Master, and Challenger to "idiots" who surrender before his powerspike?? That's the stupidest defense I've ever read.

And Ahri is hardly the only Assassin with decent waveclear and CC. Leblanc, Ekko, Fizz etc. Calling Ahri's design idiotic just because you have no good argument at all makes YOU look idiotic.

Lauchmelder2 votes

By now we already know that you're an Ahri player. You'd defend her even if she was the most broken champion in the whole game.

Sure you are

OP's manliness alone should tell you he's a Xin main.

Also the sooner you learn that mains aren't the only people who defend champions, the better off you'll be.

i would not describe Ahri as having a whole lot of counterplay outside of the laning phase, especially regarding her ult.

i don't think she's significantly out of line at the moment either though

People has always complained about Ahri since release. I've even made a post showing all about it. Which I can paste it here for you.

People hate it because she picked in the LCS, Being to safe, To much damage, etc. There always something going on. Even with another champ, Annie.

its funny i mean i usually dont watch lcs, not at all but yesterday i was shortly watching a game (no idea what teams i think c9 vs clg) the mid from clg picked ahri (huhi or something? idk xd) and he did NOTHING all game xDDD i didnt see him land 1 good charm and he always failed trying to engage fights only good thing he did was solokilling the enemy viktor but that was pretty much it wasted his ult and flash several times for sneaky charms but ALWAYS failed xDDD 'muh ahri op shes picked in lcs' still doesnt change the fact that it takes skill to make her work lul 'but but muh no counterplay' sdwebifw xDD

assasin waveclear easy to hit burst sustain extremenly safe well above 50% winrate for years yeh. ik why they complain. the only reason she isnt nerfed is because other mages are more broken than her most of the time. Also the skillshot thing all you gotta do is R W Q1 to burst a squishy. You need the charm if they got a full mr item usually.

xxxDogmanxxx3 votes

So she has to land her ULTIMATE and 2-3 skills and you're surprised that a squishy dies? How is that different from any other carry champion? Her ranges and skillshots are simple enough to learn, so just because a squishy who got into her range and couldn't dodge her skillshot dies to her combo, that does not mean she's OP. That's just plain bad positioning on the squishy's part.

As for being safe, yes she has 3 dashes, but that's her ULTIMATE. That's not her being OP if you're unable to account for her ult and lock her down with CC. That's just your fault for being uninformed.

greekvandaL1 votes

her W R are not skillshots and they target champions first off. second you cant miss her Q point blank and you can ALSO make the second part hit by moving with the ulti. Her ulti has 67s to 73s cd with morello and lvl 11 . ALso her range argument doesnt mean jack shit because she covers range faster than more than half the champion roster. 4th her winrate doesnt lie consistent 52+ for years on most metas. And you think you gonna teach me about the game ? try playing in high diamond and low master for a couple of months an then tell me ahri isnt a cancer champion. peace

xxxDogmanxxx2 votes
greekvandaL1 votes

is that supposed to impress me? i can easily handle myself vs challenger toplaners on both euw and eune i dont think a master tier will impress me. And before you say why arent you challenger newb. I'm toxic i cant keep myself sane for long enough to grind out d2 cancer with all the wannabe gosu adc players in EU who lose games faster than Tyler1 run it down mid when he got ks'd

Master Vemira3 votes

Ahri doesnt die until the enemy laner can kill her by either surviving her charm, or flashing it. So much counter play.

there is no dodging it, because she just sits behind her wave until jungler comes, becuase litterally every ahri player is a fucking coward

why engage when you can just stop any engage, and turn it into your kill

This sounds like a L2P issue.

And nothing you wrote has anything to do with dodging her charm lmfao.

Stay salty my friend.

By "most balanced" you mean one of the highest winrate together with a decent playrate than yes she is pretty balanced. She is everywhere and tbh people had too much in their plates before "cough" looks at Leb, but now that she is out of the way, this abomination is picked instead.

You guys notice the hate for these champs is related to one thing: Ahri Zed Leblanc

MOBILITY !!!!

All of them have good enough burst but its their mobility which gives them alot more outplay potential than other champs and this could be unfair as they are usually always the one who decide when to initiate a fight or if get picked out of position, have ways to escape. They are basically low risk, high reward champ. I played ahri and i actually found her one of the easiest champ to play with.

53/4% win rate is suddenly one of the highest? Sure. She could use a bit of tuning, but, with Urgot, Skarner, and Aatrox existing, SOMEBODY, logically, has to have their missing win rate. And she has a small percent of it. The meta has her a bit favored right now, since it's a damage meta. So of course a bursty, semi-assassin mage is going to be above 50%.

AHeroNamedHawke1 votes

Tell me OP, how exactly do you expect all champions to have a "good, consistent" pick/win rate of 20% and 54%? I'd like to see the math behind that one

{quoted}

DuskDaUmbreon1 votes

Idk what's up with her pick rate, except that she's Ahri, and she'd have a really high pick rate if she was anywhere above a 30% win rate.

And the latter is. Half of all games have to be won, and half of all games have to be lost (discounting remakes). Anything else is literately impossible. Logically, since you can only play the game with a champion, the average win rate of all champions must be 50%. If a champion has a win rate of just 49%, that extra 1% has to be divided up amongst the rest of the ~133 other champions, or we have more games lost than won, which isn't possible. So, if she has a 53/4% win rate, that extra 3-4% has to have come from champions with less than a 50% win rate. Look there, and fix the weakest, and I'm absolutely certain that Ahri's win rate will come back down from the "oh so high" number of 54%.

"But why buff others when Ahri's the strong one?", I hear you ask. Well, because this is a damage meta. Logically, she's gonna be stronger, since she, you know, is a burst mage. The tank meta kinda wore her out, but, with her true damage, it's honestly not the meta that outright disfavors her. Any CC-heavy meta will obliterate her, however, because, if she gets hit by any CC that's more than just a slow (or a blind, technically, but that went without saying), she's toast. Like just about every assassin there is.

I really wish I was an alcoholic

K so, Urgot has a 0.38% pick rate, 1653 games. Ahri has a 20% pick rate, 87009 games. He has a 47% win rate, so that's 53% of games he's losing. That's 876 games.

You're telling me, with a straight face, that Urgot was on the enemy team against Ahri in every single game he lost

What in the actual fuck man

That doesn't even begin to address the differences in pick rate, competitive pick rates, or your possible mental troubles, but this level of roundabout reasoning can't be healthy. And again, how exactly is Ahri weaker to CC than your standard mid laner? Can you explain how a highly mobile champion with 800 range is more susceptible to CC than someone like Talon, who has next to no in-combat mobility and is melee?

Let's not forget, Ahri hasn't dropped below a 10% pick rate (save two dips) and 52% win rate in two years.

http://www.leagueofgraphs.com/champions/stats/ahri/platinum

Look at it. Tell me its just the meta shifting in her favour. For two years.

DuskDaUmbreon1 votes

I'm not saying it's just one champion that's low, or just her that's profiting from someone being in a bad spot. But with a lot of champions with below 50 win rates, others, especially those who beat said champions, profit from it. Taliyah's in a bad spot right now, and Ahri arguably beats her. ADCs, especially the DFT trio, became OP, so Ahri, as a mobile burst mage, capable of getting in close, using CC to stop two of them mid-ult, then deleting them is obviously going to become both more played and more powerful.

And Talon straight-up has invisibility and the ability to GTFO through the jungle for free. Plus he actually has a way to have useful in-combat sustain, and can build QSS without wasting stats. Ahri has her ult, flash, and maybe that one hextech item (which I never build on her, because having damage is a bit more important than forgetting I have an item, or being CCed so I can't use it).

And when is the last time that a CC meta came up? Ahri doesn't suffer as much in tank metas as other mages (due to having at least one ability capable of actually causing some noticeable damage), so that recent one wouldn't have done much. Other than that, the only other metas I can remember recently are damage ones, one with assassins, and now (or possibly just recently), with the unholy trio reigning supreme over many games. The former she kinda suffered in, due to being a mage, but the latter she('s) enjoying/enjoyed immensely, since she countered the most "OP" champions in it. It's like wondering why Vayne would become so popular in a tank meta.

Also, being drunk and being an alcoholic aren't the same thing at all. You definitely sound like you want to be drunk, not addicted to alcohol.

And I do believe that Ahri's range on her autos is rather pointless. The only thing her autos do is finish proccing TLD.

Isn't it weird how you just "cant remember the last tank meta" when it comes up? Even when we cycle to it in each season (which we have) and the current competitive picks of tanks in top lane, you just conveniently forget to suit the post. Even forgot that Ahri gets 200 bonus MS on her Q, cuz you've gotta trim down that list of fixes for positioning mistakes.

So lets address two points here. One, the champions you listed don't actually have high enough pick/win rates to significantly affect Ahri's win rate. If Ahri is picked 20% of the time, and Taliyah is picked 2% of the time, then not only do they have to end up on opposite teams but Taliyah has to lose. This must occur for every single negative win rate champion, enough to match Ahri's pick rate and affect her win rate.

Or Ahri is just overpowered, and is too easy to win with. We call this Occam's Razor, the less retarded explanation is usually the correct one.

What you're suggesting here, if we pretend for a moment its true, is to buff literally every single negative win rate champion in the game rather than just nerf Ahri. And you somehow think that makes sense.

Two, why isn't Zed at a positive win rate? These ADCs are rampaging around, QSS does nothing to Death Mark, and they can't itemize Hourglass. Shouldn't he be benefiting from this supposed "burst meta"? Why are Orianna and TF some of the most played mid laners now? Are they also burst mages?

Talon's invisibility also does nothing if he's already being CC'd, as you'll know exactly where he's sitting and just made him waste a huge portion of his burst. Not only that, but "jumping over jungle walls for free" means you somehow didn't manage to kill a 1700 hp assassin before he ran across an entire lane towards your ADC, jumped at them with a 550 dash and killed them. The wall jump prevents him from leaving if he uses it to engage, and is useless if he's not fighting directly beside a wall. Chasing the assassin out of a teamfight means you win the teamfight, by the way.

And the 800 is her Q range, do you even know what these champions can do? Or is this just the usual "your facts end where my feelings begin" thing?

i mean if you honestly think CONSISTENTLY being one of the best, if not the best mid laner for as long as she has been released is balanced, think again.

she has so much free power in her kit along with insane mobility. the ultimate combination of a mage and assassin because of her very high damage output from a range and up close while also having a 2 second disable. believe it or not she also has very little counterplay if she's in your face. i would compare her to leblanc in terms of counterplay as someone with no mobility.

she has no real lane counter except for fizz.

the only people who think she is balanced are either: A: low ELO B: an ahri main
